Re: reading my ECEF pos/vel and quaternions
I forgot to mention that I agree with Selden's comment re the Orientation statement. I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere (maybe in the WIKI for reference frames) that the Orientation statement (though still usable for limited cases in isolation) should not be used if you're also using a BodyFrame, a...

Re: reading my ECEF pos/vel and quaternions
Simguy, The reason Selden has specified both Orbitframe and Bodyframe is because the first (Orbitframe) defines the object's position, and the second (Bodyframe) defines it's orientation. They are not redundant as they each perform a different function. The order doesn't matter, however the order us...

Re: New bugfix release 1.6.2-beta1
Who will test it? In the first instance, whoever made the change would need to check that it works first ... followed by everyone else. This doesn't seem like a big issue, as the previous version will probably work fine. Tests are code. Somebody should write them. Currently we are only 2 persons wi...

Re: New bugfix release 1.6.2-beta1
@SevenSpheres: Thanks for your original efforts to replicate this issue. I used the latest available version from the Inno Setup tool site. My suggestion is to perhaps revert to an earlier *stable* version. It's just an installer after all, doing a very simple task, so unless there's a very strong j...

It present but only if you don't have Celestia installed already. That's a bug (or feature?) of Inno Setup tool. If you want us to use another tool we are waiting for your pull request. Is "Inno Setup tool" a different tool to the setup tool historically used by Chris L, or is this just t...

Re: New bugfix release 1.6.2-beta1
I held off for a long time on installing any of these 64bit builds because I was worried about the risk of breaking in some way my existing Celestia environment ... but 2 days ago I decided to bite the bullet and see what all the fuss was about, so I tried to install the 1.6.2 build from the beginni...

1199 is a much nicer number than 1200 ... and It's palindromic symmetrical. ;-)SpaceFanatic64 wrote:Thanks, for the patch, Chuft-Captain. Also, 1200th post!

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia
Wow... Thanks very much Chuft-Captain... You're welcome...No big deal. :) FYI, This model exhibits some very bad Z-fighting from certain viewpoints, which detracts from an otherwise very nice model. e.g: click this celURL YMMV, but I have attached a short video of what I'm seeing from that viewpoin...

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia
the full length of the extendable boom with a damping spring is 32 meters in maximum, but in my model is 16 meters.. it's was made specially, because too long models not observable well in Celestia when we want to see it close... What you can do to make the close viewing easier, is to place a coupl...

Motherlode
Does anyone know who is running the Celestia Motherlode these days? I just wanted to get a message to them that the website is currently broken. It appears that although the website is up, clicking on any addon link gives a Database error. (Looks like website is UP, database is DOWN.) (First time I'...

"Hide my online status ..." no longer works
Just noticed that this feature no longer works on the forum....I don't know how long for because it's not something I've ever checked, but admins, you may want to investigate why this no longer works.

Re: Starship Avalon" from the movie, "Passengers"
Selden,
I just downloaded animv100beta3 but there is no sign of a Build -> Split Solid function in it.
Is there a later version than beta3?
EDIT: Forget about it ... I found a later dev build which has that feature.

Re: Interactive Resurgence Maps
Bad link to ZIP file Selden. This works: ZeusBattery_v09.zip Diff: ZeusPower_v09 --> ZeusBattery_v09 BTW. I suggest a darker background colour. This one turns out to be almost exactly the same colour as my mouse cursor in Celestia (YMMV), which means my cursor "disappears" whenever i...

Re: Starship Avalon" from the movie, "Passengers"
Frank, Although it's very easy to convert it into a CMOD, it is very difficult to do it so that it would look right/good in Celestia. Main problems are: 1/2 of the normals are reversed. No useful sub-meshes in the model. The only practical way to get this into Celestia in any decent form would be to...

Thanks Croc,
I've tried to re-post from memory most of my comments from the deleted thread in the original thread here: https://celestia.space/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=17916&p=137552#p137552
Hope that not too much else was lost.
