16510 Ipipipip - system from my fiction writing (Version 1.0)

16510 Ipipipip is a star system which is a crash site place in one of my Air Crash Investigation fanfictions. The story originated in February 2020, and I've told it over at a house party to people. One of my friends actually helped me pick atmospheric temperature and pressure for the crash site pla...

WD-5618924893261 System

Post-AGB white dwarf System, 1st version of the addon. Lamkomp planet has a backstory - it was damaged slightly in the crash of V389 Cordium Serpentis Flight 2017, which is from my fictional universe. The AltSurface for that is presented in the addon. I decided to give the white dwarf a generic astr...

I am back from the dead, in a way

I came up with an idea for my universe where people actually live on stars, and some of the biggest stars have six-digit radii in terms of the Sun. Chemical elements go all the way up to Z = 20'000 (after that there is just physical impracticality), and there exists a concept of "biological vis...

Re: Stefan-Boltzmann constant is faulty for massive stars?

Speaking of "your mom" it was just an internal edit within the Size Comparison addon, it wasn't really an addon of my own.

I never intended it to be publicly shown, but since talks went about the "biggest star" I decided it would make a fun addition.

Re: A Forking Commit Thread.

Woah. Imagination is an extremely fluid thing, and computers can't keep up fast with it. Speaking of the stars, I wonder if it is possible to pull out the stars.dat file or at least somehow remove all the stars in it? This way I can center the universe on my own galaxies and circumvent bad rendering...

Re: Stefan-Boltzmann constant is faulty for massive stars?

I checked the luminosity correction, and it gave me a factor of 7.2 times (-2.15f in this case becasue type is just plain M4). static float bmag_correctionM[3][10] = { // Lum class V (main sequence) { -1.38f, -1.62f, -1.89f, -2.15f, -2.38f, -2.73f, -3.21f, -3.46f, -4.10f, -4.40f, ... }; About what i...

And speaking of the largest star... I got this one.

Re: Stefan-Boltzmann constant is faulty for massive stars?

@GurrenLagann I did this by total accident. Originally stars were meant to be within Sextans A's addon style, I expected a -17 magnitude to correspond to that star with 86'000 R_sun, but instead Celestia did this. If the star is caltculated by ratio of T_star/T_sun to the 4, which is about 7, the ra...

Stefan-Boltzmann constant is faulty for massive stars?

I have a star that symbolizes America in my fictional universe, and it has an absolute magnitude of -17.76, which corresponds to luminosity of around 1 billion x Sun. When I automatically put it into Celestia, using the temperature of 3500 K and the magnitude, it gives a radius of 220'000 times that...

Re: A Forking Commit Thread.

Hello,

I apologize for long delay and not replying. I simply had to prepare for standardized testing that was important for entering college since I will be entering astronomy department, which is my passion so yeah. Now that school is over I will read into this.

Re: A Forking Commit Thread.

To Janus: (idk how to tag people here and idk if this function even exists)

If I can do even a brute force version, would you mind testing it with your auto generated data to see how it looks?

I wouldn't mind this. Here is the addon and Python code:

Why does 1 GY celestia do this? Is this because star distances are still laid somewhat according to parallax?

So I made using Python random.uniform function a bunch of coordinates within a span of few hundred light years. The star on which it is centered is called Israel, and it is 370370370 light years away in the 1 GY build. I made 1000 red subgiants and 6000 yellow subgiants (radius 10'000'000 km). And a...

Re: Stars don't show after 10s of millions of light years

"If you are compiling your own then all you need to do is modify one line to implement the change. /src/celengine/stardb.cpp:47 constexpr const float STAR_OCTREE_ROOT_SIZE = 1000000000.0f;" That's how. Just find the line in the stardb.cpp and replace 1000000000 with 46000000000 However fo...

Re: Stars don't show after 10s of millions of light years

Yaaaaaaay I finally got to making this work!

Star at 45 billion ly. In my universe Israel is supposed to be at 370 Mly but eh just a test run.
