Re: Discrepancies at Celestia general projection
Thank you, LukeCel, for your concern and for your answer. I think you are right about it. I also make another attemp taking into account the distance factor. I use one pic of the Earth as seen from one of the Apollo 17 missions at a distance of 112.831 km and make the comparison: the result seems to...

Discrepancies at Celestia general projection
Hi everyone, it is nice to be here again! I write to all of you because I think there is something wrong regarding Celestia projections that may need to be corrected. I notice some discrepancies beteween original planets views in relation with that same maps projected by Celestia. In the example att...

Wow, thank you very much to all: the explanations about files, the attachment and more convertion programs suggestions.
Thanks a lot

Re: Comet 67P from 3ds to cmod
Thank you John for the data. However, despite knowing the converter and even trying (without suceed) severals models, I always get the same result: model incomplete with lack of texture as shown in capture. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fSVWeedDdgbWUmm6w8TdvdeMcQxhvr53/view?usp=sharing I also wou...

Comet 67P from 3ds to cmod
Hello to all!
Is it possible to convert this incredible 67p comet from .3ds to .cmod file?
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cYeLzwRAmufdDuzUlixuqSIFqnHmevSH/view?usp=sharing
It is a really amazing model that would be fine to enjoy at Celestia!
Thanks in advance!

Re: Model of Pluto
Celestia Origin is actually also available in non-torrent form as a zip file. WARNING: The file is 3 GB, so it might take a while to download. Actually, why not to split it into subpackages? Is it possible to generate a unique .zip file so we can download it directly? Thank you! Celestia Origin is ...

Putting up Pluto model
This model has already been converted in Celestia Origin...The model is available in the downloadable archive for the project. As for the others, I have worked with the Io model (it has a couple problems), and the models of Tethys and Iapetus are in Celestia Origin as well. And I've worked with the...

Model of Pluto
Hi everyone! I found this pluto texture that may be really cool if someone can convert it from .ply to .cmod format (for Celestia, of course!). Here is the source: https://space.frieger.com/asteroids/dwarf/134340-Pluto If there is someone able to convert and share this pluto model, it will be really...

Thank a lot! and new line code to add color and ambient light
Thank you very much for you answer! The model looks fine! However I would like to ask you if the mesh model you use to create this cmod file is the same as I suggested, because that 3d model is full of details! Regarding the other user, it is true that there is a bit of "double Effect". I ...

Convert 3d file into cmod with texture
Hi Everyone:
I found this nice vesta 3ds model but I´m afraid I cannot load texture when running into Celestia;
https://nasa3d.arc.nasa.gov/detail/asteroid-vesta
Can everyone convert it to cmod or make this 3ds able to load texture and not only the naked 3D model?
Thanks a lot!
