Re: A trip down memory lane

That's fair. Also, from what I recall, CO first released in 2016; how come a post was never made on the forum then?

Re: A trip down memory lane

I hope he has not passed, though with the inactivity and the site going down your fears may be unfortunately true.

Are the older versions of Celestia Origin saved or archived anywhere, or are they now gone too? I don't need them, obviously, I was only curious.

Re: A trip down memory lane

Makes sense, I had suspected as much. I think when I first started using Celestia in August 2017 or so, the Motherlode was also dormant. Hell, the new addons page doesn't even work anymore so it's hard to see what was the last uploaded thing. As I understand it was in a rather tumultuous state in 20...

A trip down memory lane

More and more time seems to pass every time I come here, huh? I've made a bit of an effort to try and return to Celestia; these days though I mainly read the forums a lot more than I post. It's also crazy to think of how far I've come in life since 2018. When I first joined this site, I had only bee...

I timed how long the startup takes today when loaded from my external drive. In the end, it took about 12 minutes.

Re: Project "Celestia Origin", release dated July 30, 2023

I have this installed on an external hard drive, but I've noticed that it takes over 30 minutes, if not longer to start up. Does this have to do with the speed of the drive?

Re: Unable to access notification options

Anyway, the only reason why I want to change the options is because I don't want to be notified every time there's a new post in the Add-on Releases section.

A screenshot of the error, if it's any help at all.

Unable to access notification options

For a while now, I've been unable to change my notification options in the user control panel. It just returns an HTTP 500 error. This happened on the old domain as well. Will this get fixed soon?

At long last!

I'm sure this was worth the wait; I'll get it downloaded soon. Seems I picked the right time to return!

Re: Spacecraft for Celestia: Thread 2

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been here in a few months. I thought it was taking an unusually long time for the site to come back and gave up hope after a few weeks. Didn't realize that the site and forum moved to a new domain. Anyway, good to see that a lot of progress has been made with the addons...

Does this mean that version 1.6.2 will no longer be supported?

Re: Project "Celestia Origin", release dated April 30, 2021

Here are the missing names for Saturn's moons that weren't in the current update: Gridr (Saturn LIV/S/2004 S 20) Eggther (Saturn LIX/S/2004 S 27) Angrboda (Saturn LV/S/2004 S 22) Beli (Saturn LXI/S/2004 S 30) Gerd (Saturn LVII/S/2004 S 25) Gunnlod (Saturn LXII/S/2004 S 32) Skrymir (Saturn LVI/S/2004...

Re: Project "Celestia Origin", release dated April 30, 2021

There were some new names on Wikipedia that I hadn't noticed in the current version, but maybe they've been added already. I do at least hope though that Didymos and Dimorphos will be updated.

Re: Project "Celestia Origin", release dated April 30, 2021

There are a few things that I've been wondering about in terms of their inclusion, such as Elektra's third satellite and the many new names of moons of Jupiter and Saturn. Edit: Nevermind, it looks like Elektra's third moon has already been added, but I know that a few months ago some Jovian and Sat...

I'm pretty sure the program would significantly slow down even if there was no overflow issue.

I assume that the addition of XYZV trajectories is to make the orbits of planets and moons more accurate, is that correct?

Didymos looks similar to Bennu if you ask me. Very cool that we finally got to see an asteroid moon up close!

I have one more question. How do I get 67P's moonlet to appear?
