Re: Spacecraft for Celestia: Thread 2

This addon adds the Centaur stage left over from the launch of the MSL/Curiosity mission. An actual model for MSL's Centaur stage is already included on this addon: Centaur-III(5) alongside 39 other missions, including from Lucy, Juno, MRO, etc. The model itself was created by toutatis in 2020 , th...

Re: ONE central place for Celestia addons

The problem with merging ALL addons into one package would result of downloading them too difficult and most of the time would crash before finishing the process, unless if it is inside a torrent file like Origin does. This has now been the purpose of the celestia.mobi site, to act as a new central ...

Re: Spacecraft for Celestia: Thread 2

I suggest to move the folders containing all your addons only the latest versions (with indicating release date) to a separate cloud or server. One spacecraft - one folder (or group of related spacecraft). Arrange folders alphabetically. And here publish only announcements. @Art Blos, I understand....

Re: Spacecraft for Celestia: Thread 2

That is intentional as retaining its default radius (~56 m) would result into being unable to click any of the visiting spacecraft nor even the modules. This is because the ISS object has now become an invisible clickable empty sphere, and applying "Clickable false" to it wouldn't help eit...

Re: Spacecraft for Celestia: Thread 2

This has been stalled for over a year now, but I'm attempting to reconstruct Tianwen-1 's orbital phase around Mars, which is currently missing on toutatis's add-on due to lack of trajectory data from JPL HORIZONS after February 10, 2021. Untitled.jpg Untitled.jpg So far, its extended XYZV trajector...

Tiangong 1 and 2 (2023)

cover_image.jpg detail_image_1.jpg Tiangong 1 and 2 were the first space stations operated by China. Like the Salyut series before Mir, they served as testbeds for the modular space station simply named Tiangong , which was launched in 2021. Three Shenzhou missions were launched to Tiangong 1 , whi...

Pioneer 10 and 11 (2023)

Although the data sent back were of relatively poor quality compared to modern standards, and did not reach interstellar ...

Re: Spacecraft for Celestia: Thread 2

That is what I meant on a conversion error I did, must have copied a wrong value on the semi-major axis (A) when I was copying them (I accidentally set it to ~3.1 AU instead of ~2.9 AU), but thanks anyway

Re: Spacecraft for Celestia: Thread 2

I have found a small (but visible) error in the .xyzv of (16) Psyche: At the end of the .xyzv trajectory (in the end of 2031), it rapidly jumps about 0.2 AU further away from the sun ... Oh, must be a conversion error of the state vector on my part. Will work on this later today, thanks -- -- Yep, ...

I'm sorry but no, I refuse to add names to spacecraft components as I intend them to not be visible upon clicking "Enter Object Name" in the first place, let alone make themselves clickable even. If you want to add some names to them in your installation, then please do so as you wish.

Re: Spacecraft for Celestia: Thread 2

I have installed the Galilean moons addon but it does not affect anything; The orbit did not change but the Celestia log says there are no errrors ... A quick check of the .sscs did not reveal any syntax errors or missing files ... I disabled all addons except JUICE and the Europa, Ganymede and Cal...

Re: Spacecraft for Celestia: Thread 2

The default VSOP87 orbits of the Galilean satellites are highly chaotic by the time both JUICE and Europa Clipper are there in the 2030s. Worst of it they even randomly collide with the moons themselves. If only there's a postlaunch HORIZONS data for the Jovian phases, I could've updated this as wel...
