Re: Celestia in Education
My apologies to Malenfant for not posting earlier. I have found from attendance at numerous faculty meetings that it is usually best if I keep my thoughts to myself! Right now I am taking a short break from cutting pipe for a planetarium that we are putting together that will (when finished) use Cel...

Re: Spaceflight bug concerning arrow keys
Dear People, The camera lock problem happens in 1.4.1. Start cold with no special config file. You will be at the start position looking at the earth. Using only the mouse, point the ship so that the earth is a little off center. Use the "A" key to accelerate to around 300 km/s. You will pass by the...

Re: A Different Use for Celestia
Unfortunately, I must mostly agree with fsgregs as far as the status of earth science in high school goes. There is a real stigma attached to earth science. The dumbed-down earth sci textbooks I have seen really don't help that perception much. I teach small earth science class of juniors and senior...

But I will respectfully request that in the view menu, a checkbox be added that makes all the frames follow motion commands as well as time commands. A simple example...

Re: The Feature Requests Collecting Thread
buggs, Many thanks for the link but, yes, I have seen and studied that approach from that exact website. It seems like a good thing. I was initially enthusiastic about that approach and said to myself - "That's the way to do it!" I am currently looking for other ways. The domemirror method is very v...

Re: The Feature Requests Collecting Thread
If possible, it might already be possible, I would like to see a "four - sixths of a box" output on 4 monitors. I am researching the building of a mobile geodesic dome planetarium that would go around to area grade schools. I have seen many schemes for getting a wrapped / warped image on the surface...
Re: speed bug
When I'm moving around the universe using 1.4.1 the same string of zeros happens when I try to stop as well. However - it has never closed the program - I can just keep going normally. It DOES start making some funky numbers and symbols at the end of the string of zeros.
