Re: more energy
I guess where I'm wallowing around, is comparing photovoltaic energy to radient energy We "feel" the Sun. With a magnifying glass, we really feel it. Slip a cryogenic boiler in there, and turn something, mechanically instead of electrically Now that I think about it, I guess friction and insulation ...

more energy
A thought I have been mulling on......
If a space vehicle has Sun 24/7, is a solar cell the only means of generating energy? With radiant energy, wouldn't a big honkin magnifying glass be able to do something?.....

You can try small_planetarium@yahoogroups.com <small_planetarium@yahoogroups.com> I've built a couple myself - a 3/4, 16' diam hemisphere, out of 2" styrofome. And a 12' diam in the basement, made out of lathes glued together, and white cardboard hot glued to the inside. I use a curved security mirr...

It feels a bit sacrilegious to be dabbling in DOS again....
I'm getting a bit over my head here, so I will attempt to email the Telus server. I still can't pull up any NASA web pages. Thanks for the guidance

Must be between me and "them". I am able to bring up ESA pages. Not Hubblesourse. The windows run command doesn't reject that "tracert". It just gobbles it up and disappears. I was under the assumption that land lines were history, and we were totally using satelites. I guess this proves this isn't ...

Wasn't too sure where to ask this. Is anyone else having trouble getting to any of the NASA web pages? I haven't been able to check on any of the space craft in the past few days

Re: Centripetal acceleration
uhhh...Ok...... I'm sort of getting it. I'm aware of the constant foot-lbs of force ( Sorry. I'm REALLY old school ) that is in centrifugal force, which I equate with what I feel when I stomp on the gas, especially going around a corner. Where I still get a bit hung up is, me stomping on the gas is ...

Centripetal acceleration
I'll probably regret asking this, but it's been bothering me most of my life, so I'll throw this in. I sort of vaguely comprehend that an object in circular motion is under constant acceleration. Keeping Newton's 3 laws of motion in mind, what is the external force? To take this a step further. A sp...

Star appearance
Lately, all the stars in Celesia on my computer, look like coloured balloons. I've tried changing star flare texture, but that changes only the star I am locked on. Does anyone know what the problem is ?
Thanks

Hi Don
I am very interested in this. I have been looking for Northern Lights to project onto my fulldome screen, but they are all very low resolution videos. This looks very promising

Hello
I've downloaded this and tried to run it three times, but I keep getting "downloading error codec". Would anyone know what the problem might be?

Re: How Celestia changed your life?
As I learned more through Celestia, it became overwhelming just how grand everything is. As I try to follow the latest research on just just how the brain works, I am amazed at how basic universal physics is involved. And I am wondering lately, is this Universe maybe inherently alive? "If the Univer...

Drew a picture of a bear cub over Ursa Minor outline ( which will prove again that I can't draw)
Now, is there anything I can do with this?[/img]
