Re: Cosmic Explorer
Heres an update of what I have done thus far... I still need to work on the galaxy models as they are low in resolution and a bit blurry but Im trying to keep my framerate below 30 - 40 so i might have to look at other options to get them to look better... As you can see I managed to fill an entire ...

Re: Cosmic Explorer
So Celestia has ditched point sprites all together I take it and is now using cg to render them... So cg sprites dont suffer the same scaling problems as regular ones? No there are no news about galaxy rendering for the regular Celestia distribution. The work I am doing is for my forthcoming Celest...

I read that already Fridger... Very nice work and your correct HSV values are much easier to fool around with

Now those look amazing Fridger! Do you use premade textures or are those procedural? Me and the Lady are doing fine... lol she loves the fact Im doing all this again... edit: After looking over the sourcecode I have to say Fridger you clever devil you... I was thinking along those very lines myself ...

Distant Worlds Addon & Artwork...
These are some doctored pictures of my upcoming addon... Of course alot of what you see will may or may not be in the addon as these are artistic representations... This system is currently located in the NGC 5128 Galaxy with a small cluster of stars populating the area for effect... http://th03.dev...

Re: Atmosphere Code
Don't forget to look up CelestialMatters ! At CM, we have a LONG thread about Mie atmospheres, entitled Manifestations of Atmospheric Light Scattering (Mie Theory) : http://forum.celestialmatters.org/viewtopic.php?t=116&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 It also contains the physical mean...

Re: Atmosphere Code
Those MIE settings are very confusing. I've read all the threads about it but still can't make a tan colored sky. It was only by accident from randomly playing with the numbers that I was able to make a green atmosphere. I think Ive grasped the beginnings of this code... I was able to repoduce a ta...

Re: PHP Cluster Generator
Well theres no way I know or orienting the barycenter so all those calculations would do me no good in that respect... I need to orient the orbital paths along the barycenter to equal the galactic coordinates as you mentioned but unfortunately I do not know the proper command to do so... Angle does ...

Not entirely... Now I am thinking I will have to create several barycenters with small clusters and plot them in a disc pattern to fill the galaxy based on its axis... I dont even know where to start with the calculations on this...

OK I decided to incoperate the new code for stc files to generate clusters of stars and have noticed a problem... Orientation... Can I use the same orientation code that I would use for galaxies on the baycenter? I will give it a shot and see and if not then I think its going to be manditory to allo...

Re: Atmosphere Code
Ok well models might be pretty neat... Might prove to make some bizarre looking stars that would drive Fridger nuts LOL like a green bumpy star hehe... Or a model of a unicorn being sucked into a black hole! I just would love to see the ability to change the color of stars as well as the color of th...
