Re: USS Enterprise Texture Problem
Thanks for the help, John! Okay, so I edited the ssc as you instructed, but as for the cmod, I really don't know what I'm looking at, since I know nothing about coding or texturing. I looked through the 347 texture files, but since the problem is limited to the Enterprise saucer section... http://i3...

USS Enterprise Texture Problem
I installed fungun's "Star Trek at Home" add-on (all 3 volumes), but got this weird thing happening with the saucer texture on the Enterprise in the DryDock... http://i315.photobucket.com/albums/ll469/cljohnston108/Star%20Trek/fungun_Enterprise_DryDock_zpscce12d92.jpg I've consulted with T...

Re: Perseid Meteor Shower
I'm kinda wondering why Swift-Tuttle is not included in the default list of comets in Celestia.
I mean, if the Perseids is the most famous of all meteor showers...

Re: 1.6.0 Documentation?
Well, I saw a few things in the Celestia Wikibook noted as "(updated for v1.5)" or "(new for v1.5)", and a subsection labeled "Features being considered for v1.6.0", but nothing more current than the "1.6.0 Changes for SSC/STC/DSC files" section.

1.6.0 Documentation?
I love the new features (that I can figure out) on this new version, but there are a few things I'm having problems with, most of which I'd just look up in the manual, but I can't seem to find any current documentation. • Is that nifty new animated cursor available in the OS X version, because mine ...

Re: Updating ISS Position
Okay, with this beautiful new version 1.6.0, I'm not sure how to access the spacecraft.ssc file, since the standard data files needed to run Celestia are now included inside the application package instead of provided as a separate folder. What might be cool in a future version is for the program to...

Re: RELEASE: Ringworld
This is fantastic! The last Ringworld add-on for Celestia I saw was made up of a hundred or so separate sections, so when you had planet labels turned on it was a big mess. I'm a member of the LA Science Fantasy Society ( LASFS ), and Larry Niven is one of our patron saints who occasionally attends ...

Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
Here's one I made just after figuring out (with selden's help) how to set the current position of ISS. I can hardly wait until the next shuttle mission, so I can be looking at Celestia with NASA-TV audio during an EVA, when the PAO says, "...and the astronauts are now enjoying an orbital sunris...

Re: Updating ISS Position
Even though I have the little ISS Locator widget for my iMac (which doesn't show the night side), and links to the NASA HSF locator (which doesn't seem to animate these days) and the n2yo tracker , this is so much better because you can look at it from any angle and distance. I just installed krisci...

Updating ISS Position
Hey, All! Absolutely lovin' the new 1.5.1 build! The question was once asked about having the current position of ISS displayed, and the answer from selden was that you'd have to do that manually... but didn't give any tips on how to go about it. Okay, so, I opened up the spacecraft.ssc file... &quo...

Re: Larry Niven's universe?
Yeah, this link definitely works... http://jeam.tag.free.fr/CELESTIAhtml/CelestiaAddons-SF3.htm Beautiful add-on, but there's kind of a problem: It's mostly OCEAN!! In the books, there are only two big oceans on opposite sides of the Ringworld! http://jeam.tag.free.fr/CELESTIAhtml/CelestiaAddons-SF3...
