Jim,
The area looks like it is just South of Lake Okeechobee. If that is the case, then that is the Everglades aka "sea of grass"
Hope this helps

Different Resolution Pictures

I wanted to switch to a 4k texture but it just be the same texture. To get the different image resolutions to work must the images must be: A. the sam...

Re: Bright planets
it sounds like you have the ambient light feature on Medium. Go to the Render Menu and go down to Ambient Light and put it at low or none.

I do not remember the name of this pheno...

Re: NGC 3132 The Eight burst Nebula
Selden, Yes, I like the handle. It is from a Robert Aspirin book series. it is the phonetic spelling of fool, but you probably already knew that. As for the run around for the NFO files, it takes an extra 10 seconds.. whopty doo, 10 seconds.. or you could actually get a freeware NFO reader from cnet...

Re: NGC 3132 The Eight burst Nebula
Selden,
You can view NFO files through MS Word. Just open word and open hit the folder option to open an already created document, find the nfo and select it. Word then asks you which language, select which one (you'll see when you get there) and viola NFO files ready to be enjoyed

True, except when you try the extended star data base then it takes a minute for the card to catch up.. Other than that, it is awesome having a 128MB card

Re: Moon's size from Earth's surface and viceversa.
alvarezp, Do not forget to adjust the degree's of the camera angle. The default is 45 degrees. To get the effect you are looking for increase the field of view to around 15 or so( not at my home computer so it is probably off). To change the field of view I believe it is the < and >. < increases it ...

Vertex Shader grayed out?
I do not know if this has been addressed or not but:
I recently installed Celestia 1.3 prerelease 4. After I installed the new version of Celestia I noticed that the Vertex Shaders option was grayed out.
I am currently running:
P4 2.0 Ghz
512MB DDR
128MB Ge4 Ti4200
WinXP

Selden,
Is there anything that can convert them easily. I tried GIMP but it seems a little complicated.
