Re: 3DMars update
Danielj your ranting is getting out of hand and annoying now STOP IT! There have been many an addon that I have not been able to install in the past, so I didn't install them And because of this I have never yet installed a virtual texture to this day. Re: Celestia under Vista
Im not sure what the fuss is about vista.
I have been running Celestia Perfectly since Vista's Launch.
Or at least since the 2nd set of Beta graphics drivers was released.

Re: Celestia as Replacement for Skyglobe
Celestia is made to be a realistic 3D recration of our Solarsystem to be viewed from the inside, it can do what you need in a limited fasion. But If you want a nice direct replacement for skyglobe (used to use skyglobe myself) Try Stellarium, its a very nice realtime sky viewer. This works in exactl...

Re: UPDATE!! - Ultimate Terraformed Mars Texture
That produces surely incorrect results for the applications required in Celestia. Standard normalmap generators assume /flat/ geometries of the surfaces. We need normalmaps on /spherical/ or even more complex curved surfaces! Ahh that would be why i was getting strange results and seam lines then T...

Re: Interior of the planets
Fenerit and Cham... These add-ons are very beautiful, thank you both. It would be great to see all eight planets in a line - each showing the internal structures and each in their original size. as an educational add-on. And is it not possible that the altsurface command can also change the model as...

Re: Can someone recommend me the best planet add-ons?
Best is a matter of Opinion My advice would be to search out the maps or use the motherload here > http://celestiamotherlode.net You could download three of the same maps at a time. Then re-name the files to the same filename and put one in each of the three Res folders. Then switch between the reso...

Thank you BH and Fridger.
The Comet tails certainly are looking nice now, they seemed to be very squashed and sharp looking in Pre 1
And congratulation on Celestial Matters too, fantastic site.
