Re: Where can I download 128k BMNG Surface Texture?
Oh I remember I hosted in motherlode a 128k BMNG but I decided to remove it (and also the 64K) from the server because of some reasons described by Fridger just before . Here an OBSOLETE post where I started to publish these textures: http://www.celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&...

Re: SIMBATCH or how to exploit Simbad in batch...
I am talking about the display on screen on the top left hand when you select an object and it will be nice to add an option "Ultra info" which can do that as you said. But about the search via "Enter", you don't need to write the "full" name of an object, write "4...

Re: SIMBATCH or how to exploit Simbad in batch...
Otherwise, it is possible to put 2 lines of names in Celestia when you select an object, the first line corresponds to the most common names like this: Name/M xx/NGC xxx/HD xxx/... ; and the second line corresponds to the full IDs without the previous names displayed on the first line of this object...

Re: SIMBATCH or how to exploit Simbad in batch...
If I understand, you allow Celestia to recognise and use SIMBAD databases ( catalogs of stars for exemple ?) directly without making manual ssc or stc files (like deepsky.dsc), is it correct ?

Re: Celestia on Vista ?
It?s OBVIOUS that you are doing fine and is happy with Vista. You have a CORE2QUAD!!Anyone with a basic CPU like mine will have some problems,at least... It appears that Celestia perfomance relies more on the CPU and memory than on the video card,at least with Windows Vista. Well, the Q6600 is the c...

Re: Apophis - round and round we go
In response to inquiries, accidental impact with an artifical satellite in 2029 is vanishingly unlikely. As mentioned above, (1) Apophis does not pass near the zones where most satellites are located and (2) man-made satellites and Apophis both have small cross-sectional areas. Even if a high-veloc...
