Re: M2 Addon

Great tutorial. Now if anyone has any sources on the specific star data for individual star in M2 then it would be really helpful :)

Re: Time is a spiral vortex

Now when you mean, "to be displayed" do you mean in the future or an add-on you can download?

M2 Addon

Question here. I am going to create an add-on for Celestia. It is going to be M2. Messier 2 is Globular Cluster and I have data for many of the stars that M2 is made up of. Now, I am new to making add-ons for Celestia so I am wondering how to add a star in the "extras" folder. thanks

Re: Time is a spiral vortex

You know what...I did not mean it to be like that. But you are acting like I said Celestia was horrible. I did not say that in any way shape or form.
Oh and Galaxy Rotation is NOT phantasy! It is based on scientific data with many sources. http://cosmology.berkeley.edu/Education ... curve.html

Re: Future Development suggestion.

Well, I agree that people should learn how celestia works on their own. But what I am trying to say, even if it doesnt involve an add-on manager is to having specific addons be enabled through a built-in program. For example, when you check "Render->Galaxies" all the addons are rendered. So if you d...

Re: Time is a spiral vortex

YEs, I really think that more science should be implemented into CElestia. I do not believe there is any star movement or galaxy movement or galaxy "spin". I am really into the science aspect of astronomy and I really like Celestia. Right now I think Celestia is a good start but I think that More sh...

Re: Future Development suggestion.

Yes, It would be really nice to have an add-on manager. If anyone has used the SkyChart program "Cartes du Ciel" it has a really thoughtout Add-On Manager and is exactly what people would want with Celestia. With some experience in scripting I think it would require a major re-write of the engine. I...

Future Development suggestion.

Now, I am not too sure how the source code runs but it seems, the more textures installed the more ram it takes up...so..I have seen this before and if it is not already programmed like this maybe this would help the mass ram and cpu usage. It seems that it loads all the textures at once and keeps t...

Getting frusterated with night VT's

Well, I am new to the program but i decently know what is going on. I am having a hard time though. The night light virtual textures I cant seem to get working on earth. All the other vt's for earth work fine. I have tried JestrNight and http://celestia.h-schmidt.net/earth-vt/#cloud . I can get neit...
