Thanks

Re: No more file updates from me
That's sad to see.
Does anyone know what was the process to update the extrasolar.ssc file? I would like to create a tool to keep it in sync with exoplanet databases.

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 for OS X available here
I have a few questions, as I am confused by the number of code repositories and builds for Celestia Is the latest code at https://github.com/CelestiaProject/Celestia? Can it be use to do a Mac build and if yes, what is the process? Why not make full use of github.com features, such as tags and relea...

Re: locations of code and builds for 1.7
It would be nice to rebase to https://github.com/CelestiaProject/Celestia, to avoid too much forking and effort duplication

Controlling a telescope with Cellestia
Hi all, I know that there are already commercial software that can point a telescope to a certain body or location in the sky. I am wondeing how feasible would be to create a plugin/extension to Cellestia that could do the same thing I for one believe that would be very cool. Such a plugin could bec...

Oh boy!
I didn't realize I am going to start such a thread
Great ideas everyone!
I agree that Celestia with the addition of certain features could match Stellarium. It already is much much more.
Regards!

Combining Celestia and Stellarium?
Hi all, After playing with Stellarium for a while, here is a thought: How about merging the two? It would be cool to travel with Celestia to Mars or a exoplanet, then look at the sky with the Stellarium technology. I can image this would be a big task, but they are both C++ applications, hoste on so...

Creating models
Hi all, I have two total newbie questions and I could not find them posted and/or answered on the forum 1. What is the most common tool and procedure for creating a cmod or 3ds model file? 2. Are there any public astronomy sites describing accurately the shapes of bodies, especially asteroids? Thank...

Re: Has core Celestia development stopped?
I agree with Christophe here.
There are so many people on the boards and Celestia is such a great application.
Why not allow a larger group of people contribute?
I know that many times quantity is the opposite of quality, but I don't think that is true for open source.
