Very nice, finally we have a realistic model of this very important object, the precursor to the ISS and all subsequent and future space wonders.
Much appreciated, can't wait to try it ....

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia
I got it, thank you. But I see that the "ring" is in the same two textures containing a lot of other Cupola parts, e.g. the Cupola windows, their covers and the computer screens, so what if we darken just the ring in those 2 textures? Can be a possible solution? Anyway I have some doubt th...

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia
Never mind, Dave, it's just a a small problem, which is lost in the beauty of the ISS model. But happy to know it is not a problem of mine.... Just curious: no one has an idea for a solution? :help: My little cent (but I know almost nothing about models, so probably it's a nonsense....): what...

Re: Spacecrafts for Celestia
Hello Dave. I just noted that your ISS release dated May-June 2022 (I have not yet updated to latest release), has a small but bright ring around the "Cupola", as shown in the attached images. It's always visible, under any Ambient Light setting and with ISS in light or in shadow. My Celes...

Celestia 1.7.0. has still OPENGL? Any rendepath options?
Hello everyone. In previous versions of Celestia I could choose renderpath options as needed, but in 1.7.0. this is no longer possible, neither in the settings nor with the cel command. The reason I ask is that I can no longer see the cloud shadows, even though my settings are as suggested. Have I m...

Re: Can you add sounds to Celestia?
Happiness is listening to Beethoven while looking at the wonders of the Universe! :) Yes, Markerz, it worked, but when I unzipped and installed the files contained in the folder celestia-dep.x64.7z nothing happened. Desperate and just to try, I did the same operation with the third zipped file conta...

Re: Can you add sounds to Celestia?
Hi Markerz. I just did a fresh install of Cartrite's release, but when I unzipped the celestia-x64 folder, the result was a folder oddly named win-32 , probably a wrong name.. Anyway, I copied all the files contained in the folders res and RelWithDebInfo in Cartrite's Celestia root, and it doesn't w...

Re: Can you add sounds to Celestia?
Thank you, Markerz, I would never have found it, because a folder called "artifact" didn't seem good for what I was looking for. My fault, surely due to my lack of knowledge of the English language. I downloaded it and will install it tomorrow and let you know the results. For the time bei...

Re: Can you add sounds to Celestia?
Thank you Markerz, but I'm a noob and when in that page I opened the build-windows (x64, x64) link, I found a series of links to code lines, only. You said I had to "download binaries here, put the extracted...", but I don't see binaries and anyway, if I will find them, I don't know how to...

Re: Can you add sounds to Celestia?
Thanks a lot for the explanation, Markerz, appreciated.
The CEL commands are the same of 1.6.1, but my problem is always the same: till when someone will compile the thing, I cannot use it (Cartrite, where are you?!? )
Bye

Re: Can you add sounds to Celestia?
Hi Markerz, thank you for yur reply.
But is it for Celestia Mobile only, or applies to Celestia 1.7, too?
And, anyway, it's available for CELX scripts only, correct?
If yes, could it be made available for CEL scripts, too, as in 1.6.1?
Thank you once again.

Re: Celestia 1.7.0 Development Thread
Can anyone please create and share the x64 build for someone like me and many other people who can't do it on their own?
Many thanks.

It?s very sad that Vista is so bad, because I change to Vista x64 JUST NOW and I can?t change my OS until at least the end of the year ,probably Windows Seven.I really hope that you are wrong and Vista is not so bad .The major problem with Vista is only related to Celestia. And I can?t change the OS ...

Well, as I anticipated in my first reply, from next May 5th Windows7 RC (Release Candidate) will be freely available, without limits in downloads number. Who is interested or merely curious on this new OS, can download it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx Give it a ...

Re: Celestia and Windows 7
Well, IMHO this will occur in a short time, given the many many problems given by Vista, that yourself had for a long time. :( You are absolutely correct my friend. It is simply that I no longer wish to be the recipient of an un-tested O.S. Like you said concerning FPS, though. That *is* noteworthy...
