Re: t00fri´s files removed from Motherlode
Since we are not supposed to question what happened (though I could possibily think of some reasons) any further, why then did someone made a topic?

Re: Celestia = Stellarium ???
However I think Stellarium is a nice addition, especially for viewing the night sky from earth at a given moment. In Celestia it's not very easy to get something that looks and works the same.

Re: Release: A portrait of our Sun
I think it's very good. Can't wait for a download. But I think the red in the sunspots is a bit too much. I don't know what others think of this.

Re: MX graphics card doesn't draw Ring Shadows
I'm running a GF4 MX on this pc, and it renders the rings for saturn fine. Might be that you have a GF2.

Re: Speed of Light
So when turned on and flying toward jupiter with an increasing speed i'd see the clouds move faster and faster? Well it doesn't. So i'm not really sure how this feature works.

Re: 100% CPU use !
Well I can share my experience with frank's. I also installed ALL nebula add-ons. And even with a 2400+ with 1 GB of ram and a GF4 Ti 4600 it's soooo slow. But strange thing is, when I move all the stc files into a different folder the slow down still is there. And even when turning off stars it's k...

Re: Making installing add-ons easier?
Selden, thank you for your help. I had a feeling it worked like that but I couldn't find any example in the ssc file so wasn't sure. alphap1us, i'll keep following the progress on the motherlode. Would love to see an easy way of installing all the beautiful updates celestia can offer. Cheers, Redfish

Re: Making installing add-ons easier?
Hi Bob, I don't know how many add-ons you installed. But on the majority of the textures i'm adding at the moment to my celestia i get exotic directories. Especially the nebulae. I believe i haven't had any zip file that had a division in directories. Usually the virtual texture add-ons have levelX ...

Making installing add-ons easier?
Hello, i've been spending a lot of time downloading from the motherload but it's taking a whole lot of work to get everything in the right directory. So now my question is, could the ones who make add-ons just include the directories as they would be needed to install in the celestia dir in the zip ...

Re: 100% CPU use !
If you use celestia you can't use anything else. So it's just celestia or the rest. No bothering in trying anything else.

Re: [another one] website for Celestia, p2p oriented
Hey PSy, I think also one place for everything celestia related greatly helps. One site is better than two. If just everyone would put their add-ons on the motherload it would be fine. Your work on your previous site however was greatly appreciated, I did manage to get the 128k South west england VT...

Re: Feature request - Auto Update
Hi Tosv,
your suggestion is really good. I myself already suggested the feature in a different topic, and I don't think I was the first one.
I think the only problem for this to work is the fact that it requires quite some work to accomplish. So I don't expect anything like this soon.

I myself haven't had any luck with cvs. So maybe some people might call me stupid. But I don't think it's a wonder that you didn't succeed. Hope it comforts you a bit

Re: Cylindrical Projection Textures from "Space photographs
t00fri,
I don't know if you tried to make larger area tiles before, but if you did, i'd like to hear which command you used exactly, if you don't mind telling me :) especially which mapping mode? Must be perspective then I guess...

Re: Cylindrical Projection Textures from "Space photographs
Hi t00fri,
BTW, do you even use the project program to create higher resolution tiles from nasa images or any other sources. It would be really stupid if I spend my time and find out it's not suited for editing new tiles...

Re: Cylindrical Projection Textures from "Space photographs
Hi t00fri, I did manage to compile the project program. However I still think that getting to this .exe for windows was more work than needed. Therefor I uploaded it to a server for people to download. I just wanted a working exe file. Not having to download 3 sorts of programs, soms exotic archive ...

Re: Cylindrical Projection Textures from "Space photographs
Let me compile mmps with Cygwin. It's hard for me to imagine that this is not a trivial task...I get back to you soon. It was absolutely trivial to compile: after downloading and extracting, cd mmps make Well for me it wasn't trivial to compile. could you send them to me? I've installed cygwin, but...

I Think I should use this to make the tiles of VT earth fit with textures. I'll get into it, hopefully it'll pay of.
