Crash with OpenGL Info

When I try to open OpenGL Info Celestia 1.3.2 crashes. I'm using Linux and XOrg 6.8.0 and KDE 3.3.0. I used GCC 3.4.2 to compile it and I compile in 64-bits for AMD64. The KDE Crash application says that there is nothing usefull in the crash data but I did compile Celestia with debug. I tried to run...

Re: Pb Saturn with release 1.3

It is definitely great that it works fast and without texture corrupion now. I have on question though. When I enable ring shadows a new shadow appears on top of the planet, that wasn't there before. I know that the shadows should be projected onto a planet now but I'm not sure if the projection is ...

Re: Saturn's Rings are opaque, and my computer slows down.

Well I don't know if they fixed the driver OpenGL bugs but it definitely works better now.

Catalyst 4.2

If you check the Release notes for Catalysts 4.2 (should be out very soon) they specificly state that the Celestia problem is fixed. Can't wait to see if this is true.

OpenOffice.org Viewer

Howdy JLP, I never thought of OO org as a "format", but you are absolutely right. Do you know if there is an OO org "reader" so folks would not have to install the entire app? Happy Holidays! -Don G. If I am not wrong there is no viewer only app for OpenOffice.org. I think I have seen a page for so...

OpenOffice.org

I think that the document format should be open and as portable/crossplatform as possible. So maybe it could also be in OpenOffice.org format. The files it makes are very small and the office suite is opensource and available for many operating systems and in many languages. It also has support for ...

Cats 3.10

There is some good news about Catalysts 3.10. The planet texture is not corrupt anymore :)

But the problem with very slow rendering and ugly rings (blocky / aliased) is still here.

So keep on reporting this problem to ATI until they fix it!

Re: 1.3.1 almost out, still has many ATI problems...

I've been reporting bugs to ATI about this for every Catalyst and Linux driver release. I hope that they will some day at least try to look at the bugs and try to fix them. One thing you can do is to use the Driver feedback form and also report the problems. In latest Windows version they at least f...

Cats 3.8 :(

I just installed Catalyst 3.8 drivers and the bug still has not been fixed. So we still have to send as many reports as possible.

And what about the two missing features above? Are they the cause of this bug?

Re: Pb Saturn with release 1.3

I checked with GLview And it says that these extensions are missing:

OpenGL 1.3
GL_ARB_multisample

OpenGL 1.4
GL_ARB_shadow

Does this have anything to do with the shadows problem?

Cats 3.7 :(

Unfortunately the new Catalyst 3.7 drivers still don't fix this problem. So keep reporting this to ATI.

Yup I can confirm this. Still not fixed in Catalyst 3.6 :( Writing another driver feedback report and if you haven't done the same allready please do so. You can also PM the guy that started this thread (which is read by ATI) on Rage3D so he can add more info or up the number of confirmations. The C...

Re: More support for ATI Radeon in 1.3.1

Well I'm talking more about bump mapping and pixel/vertex shader support for Radeons and other things that enhance the visual experiance in Celestia. I know that the Saturn bug and probably other bugs are a problem with their drivers. Maybe Chris or some other developer could contact ATI and I guess...

More support for ATI Radeon in 1.3.1

Will there be more support for ATI Radeon cards in Celestia 1.3.1? Radeons are getting vry very popular and it would be a shame for Celestia to stay pretty much nVidia only app and not show some very nice visual effects for Radeon users.

I just updated to Catalyst drivers 3.5. And still no fix. People with Radeons, please submit the bug report to ATI so that they at least notice this bug in bug reports.
