Re: Making Planet textures with PlanetGen - Clonebrush?
Hello Diablo, too bad I don't have 3dmax or photoshop. I have to do this with free software like planetgen and the gimp. I already knew that tutorial, too bad, but thanks a lot for the info. I'll let you know if I want to use one or two of your textures, but I am afraid they do not match with the ot...

Re: Making Planet textures with PlanetGen - Clonebrush?
Hello diabloblanco17, I downloaded some of your textures, I like the Dantooine Texture very much. :D Too bad the other textures all look like from planets that cannot carry life. :? May I ask you how you made them? The Dantooine texture is perfect for me, it also has a bumpmap, this is exactly what ...

Re: Making Planet textures with PlanetGen - Clonebrush?
Hello, @eburacum45: I don't need them quick. I have myself made some with Planetgen, they don't look bad but the stuff I saw here is much better. I need 10-30 Planet textures, and some space background textures. My project is a 1-4 player space shooter with 3d cinematics, project page is here: http:...

Re: Making Planet textures with PlanetGen - Clonebrush?
Aha, now I understood. Too bad it sounds like a lot of work,
if I have to clone and redraw most of my image, because I need plenty of them.
But thanks a lot for this hint, I'll think about it.

Re: Generic Planet Textures
Hi John, this is a nice one :D With this: Planet -pq -c -a -s 3.1415 -m 1 -w 1024 -h 512 -o testWin.bmp it gave me a nice planet texture :D Can I somehow let it generate a few dozen with different colors etc. to choose some? This thing should have an interface, then it would be really great. ...

Re: A sun texture and (fiction) Planet textures
Hello,
Lunarcell is great and works fine. I made a trial texture, looked good.
Thanks!
Firle
P.S.: How can I make a sun texture? Can I do this also with Lunarcell (doesn't seem to work very well) or is there another easy way to make a sun texture?

Re: Anybody here creative?
Welllllll, this will be the main problem. I just looked at the code. first thing is I am a Delphi and not C++ developer, but perhaps I can do it. But the next thing is I know nothing about OpenGL and not much about D3D. I don't understand what GL_LIGHT0 etc is, I don't understand glLightf etc. This ...

Hi Chris, thanks a lot for the info, your planet names sound cool :D I have already taken 30 of the above list, they do also not sound bad. Right now I am fighting with some 3D functions, the light from the sun is not working right, and I want to add some animated clouds on the planets, some asteroi...

Hello, wow, thanks a lot for those many ideas. I already thought I am not the only one who made some thoughts about this matter. The game's name will be 'Commando Xenidis', so I think I'll get myself a greek dictionary and get some cool names out of it, sounds like a good idea. :D If anybody is inte...
