Specify config file from command line

Hi all, Wrote a small addition to Celestia to allow one to specify the config file to use from the command line (ie. with "celestia --configfile blah.cfg"). This can make the educational activities a little easier to load as one can simply create a shortcut (or script, under Linux) to Celestia that ...

Re: NGA-GNS Location Data (+perl script)

Just a quite note to say that I've updated the script (if anyones used it) - it had a bug whereby it would only output to one file, that's now fixed and it correctly outputs to multiple files (by default - this can still be changed). The location is still the same, downloading from the link above sh...

Re: Feature Request: Level 11+

Just wanted to note that given the comments here, I too was hesitant about installing Worldwind, I don't really like programs adding extra software on the side for me (especially when I generally already have the latest, eg. DirectX9c) - so when Worldwind asked me to install the .NET Platform I said...

NGA-GNS Location Data (+perl script)

Hi all, NGA: GNS GEOnet Names Server NOTE: before anyone gets too exicited - there seems to be no population data for most of the locations I've seen so far, which means there's not much chance of weighting the importance and size variables. However there is latitude/longitude data. Found this large...

Re: Is it possible to toggle Label/Visibility for an Object?

Thanks Bob, Using numbers and letters could be a handy work-around at times (btw: according to documentation I thought the marking symbols could only be set to 'triangle', 'x', 'diamond', etc? I guess using just "b", etc works? I'll have to try it when I get home :)), but I'd really prefer to have t...

Re: Celestia CPU usage

I've noticed this CPU usage too, however I also note that minimising the application puts it in an idle mode (at least for recent versions 1.3.2 & 1.4.0pre6). I think I remember reading this is the docs somewhere too. This may be partly what you are looking for. Other than this, upgrading as oth...

Is it possible to toggle Label/Visibility for an Object?

Hi, The subject line sums it up, just wondering if it is possible to show a label for one particular object (say m33) rather than all objects (eg. galaxies) as sometimes there are a lot of labels in that class you might not want to show (eg. you've got the extra galaxies files - 1800 or so of them)....

Re: I can't find winlibs-new.zip

I'm also interested in compiling Celestia under Windows, and having access to the winlibs zip file would be handy (well, I assume it's handy and easier than sourcing the required libs myself and compiling them from what I've read). Could this be placed somewhere public until the website comes back u...
