Re: globular clusters
Yes, I saw the Messier add-ons and they already include a number of globular clusters. However, they don't look very good. I think I'll take a look at the stars database and the messages here about adding to it. I can hack together an addition to the stars database that would put a number of statist...

globular clusters
I have, from a previous project, a compilation of the known globular clusters in the Milky Way. There are approximately 200 of these. I modelled them simply with a power law distribution of about 1000 stars each and viewed it using VRML. A frame grab from the VRML can be found at: http://terpsichore...

A & Z keys in 1.2.4 under linux
I compiled 1.2.4 on Red Hat linux 7.2 and kernel 2.4.9-31. Most everything works fine, although it appears some of the keys have changed from 1.2.2 and are not reflected in the documentation (i.e., P, M, N). However, I find that the A & Z keys now do nothing. They previously worked in 1.2.2. Doe...

Re: linux
I have successfully compiled 1.2.2 and 1.2.4 under Red Hat linux 7.2. Red Hat uses its own modified gcc 2.96, so I can't be of help for 2.95.3. My kernel is 2.4.9-31. Looking at your output, the "undefined reference" stuff would naively indicate some missing libraries. Most of those things mentioned...
