Re: More realistic europa-like world
This addon looks great so far, I like the gas giant the most. Interesting idea with the Europa-like moon.

And I'm getting quite agitated, and I'm ready to throw the laptop across the room. 8O Unfortunately, the only suggestion I can make concerns a more effective destruction of your notebook ;-) : I would drown it in salt water, rather than throwing it across the room... Good luck, Bye Fridger Oh pleas...

Great work, one of the polar icecaps looks a lot like Antarctica.
It would still be nice if you could publish the 8k specular texture and bump maps as well as the 4k clouds, just for extra enhancement.

Scylla looks interesting.
Maybe you could make Charbydis a bit of a bluish colour to contrast against Scylla's redness.

Re: Rants of an insane parasitic lifeform
I must have good vision, I can see what Hunter Parasite is writing quite clearly too, but the default coloured writing does look a bit better. At least orange writing puts a little colour in our day.

Re: An Encyclopedia Of Interesting Objects In Celestia
I had an idea similar to this awhile ago but it never went anywhere. Here's a link containing info on an addon I have in the making involving the Sirius stars: http://www.bluwiki.org/go/Sirius This information's going to be updated and changed though, at least until the addon is finished and made av...

Re: Celestia in your dreams?
My dreams don't follow a set laws of physics, they have different rules each time! In one dream I could fly high up into the air by doing a really big jump, and so I try to do the same in another dream but nothing happens... Has anyone ever had a dream where they suddenly realised that they w...

Can't wait to see Scylla and Charybdis. Igom and the Asteroid belt are looking good so far.

Maybe move the first page of all the boards over at first and then worry about the rest later. ...the Addon forum might benefit by being supplemented with a "Fan Fiction" category. Because most of the stuff posted *is* fan fiction. It would make the forums tidy enough for me. -rthorvald I don't thi...

Re: Reality and fiction
I actually wouldn't mind a restructure in the forum boards. Malenfant's layout looks pretty good, but if the forum is restructured, what are we going to do with all the old posts? Maybe we could put them all into a locked "Archive Board". This could possibly be placed off the main forum site with a ...

Re: Preview: Sirius Planetary System In Construction.
Read my post more carefully. I said realistic BUT boring, not realistic IS boring. If it WAS boring I wouldn't be into planets and space at all would I? Where would my inspiration come from? And it's not just making it interesting, it's originality too. I can't just make a near-identical replica of...

Re: Preview: Sirius Planetary System In Construction.
I agree with NoXion, I think creating an interesting fantasy system is better than making a boring but realistic one. Have you ever considered that you can make an interesting realistic one? Again, how the heck can you call realism "boring"? Look at our own solar system! We've got a tidelocked worl...

I'm starting to think I should just have a fantasy Sirius system and not bother creating a realistic version. It's more fun for me that way.

The asteroid looks like someones pulled a piece from Mars' rock littered surface and then wrapped it all around into an oblong object.

My most favourite computer games would have to be the Tonb Raider series and the original Doom series (not counting Doom 3). I also like Sims 2.

Re: Preview: Sirius Planetary System In Construction.
Yep, that's the fantasy version of events. In the realistic version, Elddim's just one of the planets which naturally formed around the Sirius star. In the realistic version, the lead oceans are just dry plains. EDIT: As for a description of the Sirius system, I've started my own little wiki website...
