Re: Display problems.
I already have the latest graphics drivers. My laptop has an Intel '82852/82855 Graphics Controller Family' 64MB graphics card with Windows XP (Home Ed.) I have found a temporary fix for this though, by changing the rendering to multi-texture rendering. This fixes the colour problems but means canno...

Re: Display problems.
I have being using Celestia on my laptop for some time now and all of a sudden the planets are all being displayed in funny colours (RGB). Do you know what could be causing this? It seems to be the lighing effects since other, less, lighted planets are ok but one like the moon for example are having...

Re: Stars Question...
So would this be simply a temporary OpenGL problem that might later get fixed or is it simply not possible?

Stars Question...
All the starts in celestia (and planets) all are confined to a certain area of the Milky Way and I was just wondering if this is because the program can only place them in this area or would it be possible to extend it. I'm asking this because wouldn't it be then possible to make and entire galaxy u...

Re: Highly unstable
I've had a problem too in that when I select a menu item Celestia seems to freeze for a while or sometimes ages and have to 'Alt+F4' it off. Also do you have problems with 'right-clicking' anything. I have to do it numerouse times accasionally (and soemtimes it workes 1st time :? ). Don't know what ...

Re: Disapearing planets
I don't think this problem have something to do with fact that there are no such textures that are asigned to objects, or does it? I don't think missing textures make a planet/moon dissapear. It normally just displayed a white planet (ie blank). I'm not a technical wizz with Celestia but I think it...

Re: Asteroid Belts
So really it simply means:
Do you want a realisitic asteroid belt but reducing performance or
Use a single image thus less realism but a lot better performance...
So sadly in the scenario, you can't have it both ways really can you?

Re: Asteroid Belts
Couldn't you do individual asteroids but using only a few meshes / textures. So that way you could have lots of individual asteroids, but using minimal meshes/textures. This means that several would all look the same but if you produce say 10 different asteroid types and use them say 10 times you co...

Re: Jupiter Ring Missing...
Thanx for the help
I though it was just a problem with my graphics card or something (like most other things that go wrong on computers... Compatability trouble )
Maybe I might download this addon, thanx again

Jupiter Ring Missing...
I have found this site address:
http://starchild.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/Sta ... piter.html
It mentions that Jupiter also has a ring, which in Celestia it doesn't so is this a bug or simply been over looked?

Planet Texture Changing...
Maybe this as already been answered but I'll ask it anyway... Is it possible to alter a planets textures automatically using Start and End dates without having to create another planet while deleting another? The main reason I dont like this method is because the two planet names exist in the search...

Planet Landing Trouble...
Just recently got Celestia (yes i'm slow :( ). I have now figured out how to land on planets but why do you go through the ground? aren't planets solid? (well ones with land anyway  ) Could this be a new feature, solid ground for planets since landing on earth and sinking thousands of Km into t...
