Re: Cannot display asteroids and comets... under Linux
I installed the autopackage version 1.4.1 on my Ubuntu 6.06 sys and I see comets/asteriods but not any spacecraft or irregular shaped objects like Demos. (cmod issue I believe) If there is a fix to this I sure would appreciate it)

Re: compiling 1.4.1 on Ubuntu 6.06
thanks for the help... I did install the .3ds files...still not rendering. I get labels etc...but no image. (In fact the .3ds files were already in the models folder because after installing, I copied my texture files from my Windows install to the Linux one.) Hopefully this wouldn't cause a problem...

Re: compiling 1.4.1 on Ubuntu 6.06
Hello, I've noticed a couple of issues after building celestia 1.4.1 on Ubuntu 6.06... I built it with the --with-gnome option 1) I'm unable to see spacecraft as mentioned in a previous thread. (the CMOD issue I guess). http://www.shatters.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9335 But I don't understand how to...

Re: compiling 1.4.1 on Ubuntu 6.06
thank you for your info...it was just as you said, the opengl packages were installed but were not being recognized...a few tweaks at the Ubuntu forum fixed the problem. Thanks for the info to pinpoint the problem.
Thanks again!!

Re: Bookmarks should be displayed in descending order
Like Selden, I use CelURLs in Windows because bookmarks don't have the information to duplicate a scene. I also hope that CelURL info be incorporated into bookmarks as they are saved? I think this would be a real convenience for new users especially.

Celestia patch w/sound. Great, but no playing of .mp3?
Hi, I really like the ability to add sound to scripts. I had made a script that played along with music a long time ago and always had to start the sound independently (No fun, and hard to share the results with others because synching the script to music was virtually impossible). But now the scrip...

Re: One crazy orbit in 1.4.0
Since I first posted, I restarted Celestia and the orbit seems to be OK again. I don't know what happened to cause Iapetus' orbit to do this. I have been unable to reproduce so I don't know what happened. But here's another orbit issue I've never seen in previous releases. This one is reproducible. ...

Re: new debian version
I did get the Debian pkg from mweyland to install on my Kubuntu 5.04 system. I apparently was incorrectly installing the missing dependencies. Now everything is working great. Thanks to you mweyland!!

Re: new debian version
Yes, if I understand, I did do this (via apt-get) but the Universal links only have version 1.3.0 available (which does work). I did get the above 1.3.2 pkg to actually install although I'm not exactly sure how, but when I'd run it it would blank out my screen and crash the system. I had the NVidia ...

Re: new debian version
Hello, I'm not having success installing Celestia on Kubuntu 5.04 i386 system running KDE. I tried apt-get celestia and can't get it to work. (I'm new to debian...I'm using Kubuntu 5.04 with KDE) There seem to be two files in question: celestia-common_1.3.2-1_all.deb and celestia_1.3.2-1_i386.deb. I...
