Try the extras folder...
Almost all add-ons are packaged in a way as to present the directory structure and ssc files necessary for Celestia to parse and include them in the current execution. Almost all of THOSE are in .ZIP files or some intriguing variant like .RAR, whose unzipping/unrarring utilities will place them wher...

Valid and Should
Selden, A cold and barren "I knew it" from me on the 1.3.2 3ds bug thing. When I went to 1.3.2 one of my 3ds models started looking a little transparent here and there. Sounds like a genuine bug which i hope is on the bug list. Considering the swath of other enhancements and bugs to be tended to i d...

Herr Doctor Doctor Professor Fridger Schrempp?
My German professor in college had that title he said (with a bit of mirth) - Herr Doctor Doctor Professor Hans Braendlin...a truly cool dude (he didn't fail me!)...
Again - Happy New Year and a marvelous pic, Fridger!

UPLOAD TO THE MOTHERLODE
AtlantiS, First of all - COOL! I would love to see (get, to be truthful) your models of Thunderbirds 3 and 5 (5 was always my favorite)!! Second - hats off to you for doing the work - I am not that talented when it comes to creating detailed models of existing (real and fictional) model designs and ...

Yeah, I noticed that too...
For now I am going to claim the same incredulity as you. Seems like it should have been a TAD smaller as the cmod format is supposed to be more efficient for Celestia. This does not logically mean, however, that the size would be smaller - rather the format itself might lend itself to more efficient...

New version available from me
Hi! I have a new version of the GUI tool for converting models. It allows for the selection of a new file name and for using the -b or -a options with other options for the fix command. It is available from me at the moment - email me at smbika@aol.com and i will send you a new zip file. Soon i will...

GUI comment
Hi, Thanks for the plug on the GUI Joe! To the guest above who would use it: when i was testing it and all of the variants of the cmodfix command parameters it seemed to me that the -b or -a (--binary or --ascii) params did not work with the others so i coded the gui to make them mutually exclusive ...

In situ editing
Thanks Selden,
I will so do...also, i agree on the usage as you make of it - it usually is enough to just trust the examples. I was trying to help the chap who asked in PM but it won't hurt me to do some research for my own sake too!
Thanks again,
Sean

New zip available on motherlode
Hi all, The fellow who alerted me to the problem mentioned above says the new version is available on the motherlode now at http://celestiamotherlode.net/creatrs/smbika/ - file is converterNew.zip. It appears to work and i hope it serves well. 2 things: 1 - i am not well versed in the meaning of all...

3DS to CMOD GUI utility update...
Hi! I recently got some feedback from a chap who downloaded my 3dstocmod gui converter from the celestia motherlode ( http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/creators/smbika/3ds2cmodv1.zip ). It was a debug version (big error on my part - many apologies) and he had the following problem: "...missing mfco4...

Oh,
And although it it quite marvelous, for me, the multishadow double star illumination features are not what made it all (sadly, perhaps, past tense) fun for me. I did so enjoy flying around on a planet or satellite's surface (like the death star trench - wacky fun!) but this is now gone. We touched o...
