Cool! Thanks Hank! I'll keep an eye out for it.

Re: Controlling Celestia from an external application like Flash
Hank,
When will you release 1.3.2 for OS X?
BTW, thanks for all the work getting Celestia up and running on the superior platform, MAC!

Re: Controlling Celestia from an external application like Flash
I'm guessing you have no clues for the MAC side of the fence. Right now I am ristricted to that. I am actually using a product called Anark Studio www.anark.com , which is basically a platform for putting together rich media using 3D. If you haven't seen it you should. Anyway there are ways in that ...

Re: Controlling Celestia from an external application like Flash
Thanks guys. Maxim I have your stuff and will have a look. How about envoking mouse/keyboard events to control/navigate Celestia from Flash (I'll use that app as the running example) to say, use a .cel to get to the ISS upon launch of Celestia but then be able to manipulte the station from there. Id...

Controlling Celestia from an external application like Flash
Has anyone tried, or does anyone know of someone who has tried to control Celestia from an external application like Flash or Anark Studio or even from a browser?
Embeding Celestia inside of some sort of external UI would open up some interesting possibilities for rich media applications.

Getting Celestia usable in Planetarium Domes
Greetings all. I am in need of some programming help.! We all know how fantastic Celestia is and each of us has their own list of wants and needs but I have one that will help not just this community but a broader community, visitors to planetaria worldwide. Currently we have, at least that I am awa...

Re: New script: a flight over Mars
Toti, This is an interesting concept. I have actually explored and tried something similar with MEL scripts in Maya but got busy and frustrated with working out the c, the language used in the sim I was working with. Again I am only an artist, not a computer scientist! you could write scripts to imp...

Re: Please report problems with the MacOS X version here.
Just to let all of you know I run a quite loaded version of Celestia on a G4 1.3ghz powerbook, 1.5g of ram and 64mb vram. I am using OS 10.3.4 and have really no problems. I have all the VT's I can get loaded (you should use VT's, they make the system run smoother), spacecraft... basically every goo...

Re: New script: a flight over Mars
Sorry, That last post was me. Guess I wasn't logged in
An edit: I am on a powerbook G4 MAC so I currently can't run the 1.3.2 pre. and I don't have access to a windoz box at the moment. This means I really can't tell what the script does so if you can fill me in...
thanks

Hi Frank (and all) I have already had a play with your educational scripts and the are superb. I can already see many uses for such beasts, especially running on a small 1.5 meter “personal dome” such as what Elumins makes. That being said, trying to direct/produce a dome show or something for say I...

Re: Newbie ?'s Lights, VT's on Mac, All Skys and a few others
Thanks Selden. Got it and I'll have a play here in a bit.
Any Ideas on better textures for Cassini and Huygens?
Any notions on attaching real-time telimitry to a model if one could get such things?
Have you heard if the pre8 (or later) has been ported to MacOS yet?

Thanks Joe, Colors are gone and VT's are working like a champ. It was calling the wrong render path. Good call! I'll load the big earth VT's in the morning.
I will be able to get .5 meter res for anywhere that is not politically hot. Should make things interesting eh!!! Start buying storage!!!!!

Hello all. Re: Rayleigh scattering is (named after after Lord Rayleigh) is the scattering of light by particles smaller than the wavelength of the light. It occurs when light travels in transparent solids and liquids, but is most prominently seen in gases. Rayleigh scattering of sunlight from partic...

Newbie ?'s Lights, VT's on Mac, All Skys and a few others
Hello. I have a few newbie questions I need some help with. I am currently using a mac powerbook G4, with an ATI radion/64mb (I will buy a windoz box later this week to play with the more complete implimentation) and I am running 10.3.4. 1. When I am the moon, or Mars (as example) there is some sort...

Re: Editable flightpaths?? and Congrats to the Community
Thanks for the warm welcome all! Generally. The Gates is a superb facility and really worth seeing. Unfortunatly it is not without its bugs. Issues with projector alignments and high maintanance of the Onyx made/makes the system quite difficult to manage/run. That being said, the nights I spent sitt...

Let me first say this. WOW! CONGRATULATIONS! You all have done amazing work. I know this because I lead the development of a quite similar project at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Cosmic Atlas (CA), the simulation designed to work with high end planetariums like the Gates at DMNS, is amaz...
