Re: NEW COMPETITION FOR CELESTIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For the moment, all I have seen, in some movies because their software are not available, are low resolution textures of the moon, Earth, Mars with few stars in the sky and some glass lens effects. But no galaxies, no nebulae, no saturn rings and so and... The main interest seems to be their use of ...

No, the August 24th 2006 the IAU defined officially only 8 major planets :
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune
and 4 minor planets :
Ceres, Pluto, Charon and "2003 UB313" (First called Xena and finally Eris ?)
Quid of Sedna, "2005FY9", Orcus, Quaoar etc...?

Re: Bugs found in Windows v1.5.0 prerelease 1
With Celestia 1.5.0pre1 from CVS (Dec 7th) - I have no problem with all the URL from ElChristou if I check orbits in the "View options" menu in front of "planets" - I see Toti's example Geographos orbit problem - I see Toti's example Pluto barycenter orbit segmentation - I see Cham's example Pluto-C...

No levels 11 and 12 in the 1.4.1pre2 too
Do you plan to include the sounds patch in a future release ?
That seems to be a plus for Celestia.

Salut Cosmic_boy,
You need also to enable the "Clouds" in the render menu to see the "Coronal mass ejection" effects.

Re: Keeping Customisations-What's lost on installs/un-installs?
Happy New Year, Celestia works already like that! :D It's not true to say "Alternate textures" work only if you modify "solarsys.ssc". If you have downloaded some addons, perharps you have seen they contain files with extensions like .ssc, .ctx... On Windows PC, addon files are usually unziped in a ...

Re: Bugs in 1.4.0 final
I made again some tries with the 81.98 version of NVIDIA driver and the OpenGL 2.0 Rendering path. Yes, the problem with this version seems to come from Earth-Specular maps... but not only :!: If I disable specular maps, Earth is blue (with normal map, BlueMarble or JMII tiles) but if I check the bo...
