celestia.Sci's User Interface
tutu10, from where did you get access to our celestia.Sci code ??? Our code resides in a PRIVATE Github repository until it will be made public by myself and the dev team in due time. I have refused and deleted your application as member of CelestialMatters forum, since you are led as a HACKER by Fo...

Re: Celestial Matters forum still down
SpaceFanatic64 » 44 minutes ago Also, there was a problem with the Celestia Motherlode that when you tried to look at the information of an addon, it got to a page that said there was an error. Yes, this error also still persists. Thanks for pointing it out! I am not associated with the Motherlode ...

Re: Celestial Matters forum still down
I am confident that my CM site will resume operation in a while . Until now, CM operation could always be restored in case of rare occasional problems...
I'll surely continue investigating. Notably, I'll try to seek help with one of the Ibiblio Admins.
Cheers

Re: Celestial Matters forum still down
Hi everyone, I am aware of the problem, but haven't found a solution yet. As far as I can say, it is indeed an ibiblio issue. Just noted that the Motherlode works again. So if anyone knows what they did to revive their site, please let me know here! Here is what I get upon dialling Celestial Matters...

Re: Is Celestial Matters accepting new forum members?
Hi SpaceFanatic64,
usually, I review new applications for user accounts at CelestialMatters without delay. Yet I was travelling yesterday for most of the day.
Welcome at CM! Just go ahead and login
Cheers,
Fridger (aka t00fri)

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
Massimo, yes I am working towards a more secure https access for the CM site. But it turns out to be involved, since CM is part of the very large ibiblio cluster. Just make sure to choose a CM login password that you do not employ elsewhere. Then nothing bad can happen to YOU , at least ;-) Note tha...

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
Massimo, as an old CelestialMatters user, you sure know that I always try to give detailed info about technical questions related to celestia.Sci . Right now I also recommend my recent and quite active thread "Glancing at celestia.Sci"...Since the celestia.Sci Development site is Celestial...

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
t00fri, I've never been aggressive towards you. I have a good attitude towards you and celestia.sci Alexell, I appreciate your sensitive approach to this non-trivial problem. But i am afraid I simply have no spare time to give away. My two collaborators are busy through most of the summer as it see...

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
It was somewhat apparent that you don't want to participate in Celestia. You could have just said that from the beginning. I said that quite clearly and quite early, yet still hoping that there were some interesting guys to be located for celestia.Sci: ...in my view this option that I or the celest...

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
t00fri, I do not quite understand what you can offer us? Your help in the project would be priceless. If you do not want to copy the code from celestia.sci, then you could help us with audio support. I'm sure that you did not do it in celestia.sci, so you will not have to copy anything. Alexell, In...

Janus,
already 15 years ago I asked myself what the purpose of Celestia really was...no answer ;-)

FarGetaNik,
to me your writing sounds (unnecessarily) aggressive and tends to block potentially constructive exchanges from the start.

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
Alexell , in my view this option that I or the celestia.Sci team members help here and there to find bugs or give coding hints will hardly work! For example, I know of many bugs in the old Celestia 1.6.x code that we have eliminated in the course of time. It will be unsurmountably difficult for us,...

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
Alexell, here is a first possibly practical proposal: I suggest you and others try motivating the celestiaproject members to have a regular look at my celestialmatters.org forum in this thread at least: Glancing at celestia.Sci http://forum.celestialmatters.org/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=910 Since a c...

Hi Alexell,
many thanks for your understanding approach to this tricky problem...
Unfortunately, I don't have a practical vision in front of me, yet.
You have been rarely seen here, recently. Is it true that you are currently on the way to becoming a "Pop star"?
Cheers,
Fridger

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
t00fri, I'm a bit frustrated with your statements. For I while I thought Celestia.Sci might actually replace it, but for now the progress on Celestia 1.7 is more comprehendable. From where do you know this? In my CelestialMatters site, the celestia.Sci development proceeds behind a wall through whi...

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
John71 and others interested, first of all, my collaborators are busy for a while, so I am currently the only active celestia.Sci team member. Clearly, what you request, would only have a chance of success, if we'd manage to set up a formal agreement about mutual collaboration (rather than competiti...

Re: CELESTIA IN THE FUTURE
Well, perhaps you understand better, if you have a look at the involved time scales along with a condensed "history" of celestia.Sci development: With Chris Laurel, I was working at the forefront of Celestia development since spring 2002 (!) and thus I am an official early co-author of Cel...
