Dang!
And here I was getting all excited to see these new models added to my small "verse", especially the Serenity. I agree we all should get a modeler's permission to use their work since it probably took them days, weeks or months to create. If they say no, fine, move on to something else or create you...

Hey Don, Sorry we're losing you, but as you said personal life is far more important at this point. I do hope you'll pop back in once in a while and say hi :-) You will be missed and your textures will live on for a very long time. This makes the second Don that's bowed out from the group. I do hope...

Thanks!!
Hey Frank, Just wanted to thank you for all the work you've done with the educational activities, I'm enjoying them very much. Just downloaded Activity 9 and went through that with eyes-a-poppin' :-) Unfortunately for me I'm still on a dial-up service with no high speed connections of any kind in my...

Re: 2001 Nostalgia (New space station done)
Looking forward to the new Station, already enjoying the new Discovery and Pod, thanks! Any chance the windows will be lit up in the shadows? I saw one model USS Excelsior with lights and windows that were illuminated when in the dark. I don't recall who made that one or how that was accomplished. A...

Re: Von Braun's space station
Glad to see your work on this and other projects! Something else that i am gonna admit too. I have a hard time sticking to ONE project, i get the model nearly done for one then i find my self doing another. Hope you will complete the Von Braun's Station and ships!! They are a favorite of mine. I kno...

Re: Moonbase addon
Importing the Tintin model into anim8or and then exporting it again produces a 3DS model that Celestia can use.
Converting it into CMOD format produces a usable model, too.
Thanks for that advice Selden, I'll try one or both of those ideas and see what happens.

Tintin
Hi cham, um there is a problem with your rocket, it does not work in celestia for me either, and for the mesh 2 of the 3 fins are missing. I agree with ScyBladeghost, the model only shows one fin in 3DS max when imported. http://tinypic.com/1ynvqg Though there are 4 "fins" defined they are all clum...

Thanks!
Thanks for the moonbase Cham! It works fine as do the black holes, but that Tintin rocket causes Celestia (1.4.0 pre6) on my pc to hang up. It never gets to the rocket itself before it hangs. I was able to import it into 3DS Max V6 and look at the model, all 3 fins and cones are together as one. I m...

No fault!
ScyBladeghost, nobody is blaming you. You made some stunning models, like the Valley Forge, and we are gratefull for that ! I agree with Cham! Wasn't blaming you for anything at all. The model worked fine in 3D Max (version 6) I have, it's only in Celestia that it breaks apart like that. Loved the ...

Yes Cham, please post your Tintin model I tried ScyBladeghost's model, but the checkerboard pattern was out of alignment (see pic). It worked fine in 3D Max and I did try to correct the problem, but no luck yet.

Thanks Don!
Thanks for the info Don! I used your cel scripting documentation to help figure this all out anyway. I'll have to try that longer wait time during texture preloads. At first I thought it was only happening on my slow system at home, but after running the same script at work on a 1 Ghz Dell it someti...

Voyager 2 script
Back from the holiday and back to scripting :-) Just finished version 2 of the Voyager 2 script. It uses the same style as the Voyager 1 script I made earlier. I hope now to add more commands to view moons close up as we fly by the planets. The script is below. Feel free to make any comments, sugges...

The Lock worked!
Once again, thanks Jack for all the info. I was unaware of the HGA problems Voyager 2 had. It's little facts like that I'd like to add to the scripts somehow. I'll have to do more research on the Voyagers now :-) I tried the lock command at Saturn and it worked great! So here is the revised section....

Thanks Jack!
Thanks for the helpful info there Jack! Yes I do want the planets to stay "up" and be able to remove some rotation correcting code as well. I'm not too very concerned about Voyager's orientation, but it would be nice to at least have the main dish pointed back "home". I'm guessing that was how the r...

Voyager 1 Flyby script
***** Updated script 11-30-2003 **** First Post! New to scripting, but have been following and enjoying the Celestia program/forum since version 1.25 or so. Currently using Celestia version 1.3.1 pre 11. Since I've taken so much from this forum I decided I'd try to give something back in return, sma...
