Nope
Sorry, I don't know. 1.3.1 just came out. I also haven't checked up on stuff in a while.

I was trying for 3d object
I got all the numbers right I think (used out galaxy's since it's at it's center) but the difference is I tried to make a 3d object exist at the center. Mine said "Mesh "blackhole.3ds" and I was trying to get this cool model that I downloaded of a spinning black hole with disk to appear. How come on...

I've tried to make one
I've tried modifying a DSC file so that it would simulate the black hole texture as a nebula, lying oriented properly in the center of the galaxy. The only problem is, it's invisible. I can't seem to get ANYthing to appear at the center of the Milky Way. I'll keep trying though. (It should have work...

67 gigs?!
67 GBs?! *choke* Wow. Was a lot of that stuff you made, or just all the existing Celestia downloads out there plus some stuff you made?
And, ah it was the hard drive I see. That sucks.

I think Visual C++ v6
I believe they're using Microsoft Visual C++ version 6. I have that. Now, if only I knew how to USE it! Looking for the first time at the C++ code for a simple window creation, I tried my best to infer what was going on and read the old MSDN Jan 2000 help stuff that I've had laying around. Then I we...

Oh well, no ring shadows for me
Oh well, guess the ATI people just want Radeon 8500 to fade into obsolescence, can't be fixed.

In the future...maybe
I saw the to-do list for 1.3.2... On it were several things, two which were: - Improved moon orbits based on ELP2000 theory - More accurate illumination models for planet surfaces You'd like the first one, I'd be fulfilled with the second :) (That's what I was talking about. Now I wait patiently and...

Wow its actually making noises?
What part of the computer's innards are the noises coming from? That could explain what's wrong. Maybe your power supply or a fan is messing up. Is it a CD drive grinding, or the floppy drive? There's not too much else could make noises, but if its the hard drive breaking that's really bad. I'd open...

Dr. Who
Ahh I remember that show. They used to play it here for a while. Making models of stuff from it for Celestia? Neat.

Oh? Ok sure here's 2
A small bug is the fact that going below 70-100 meters above a planet surface causes the atmosphere to mess up and begin to disappear, at least it does for me. I usually just remember not to zoom in too close, but its still weird that it does that. It's not as bad as previous versions where I couldn...

Wow that was a reality check
I totally forgot that computer monitors are such a limitation. I guess some new kind of display technology will have to be able to display realism in the future, as phosphorus is limited (as this thread made me remember). I guess the problem with monitor range is partially the fact that phosphorus g...

nVidia page won't let me download fully
I keep trying to download the latest dds.8bi but it get to about halfway at most and freezes. If I try Download Accelerator, the file it saves is unusable. What gives? (I also use shared internet connection of a 56K dial-up, maybe its just buggy) I wish I could get it because I also can't save the 1...

Yeah I have the Radeon 8500 with Catalyst 3.8 installed
Even with the latest drivers for Windows XP and Radeon 8500 I see a big problem with Ring Shadows. Everything else I've checked out under OpenGL vertex program mode looks ok so far, and specular reflections are now present (except for M.F.s BlueMarble virtual texture), as well as shadows for mountai...

And the dark matter simulation glows blue sometimes
Yeah check out the dark matter add-on, glows blue, also gets holes at certain angles. Ran out of its 3d rendering room maybe? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I see it with pre11 too. It's just interesting, and goes away if the object is oriented ...
