Re: Ran III Released
It's almost like a Myst-style adventure game in space Well, it?s kinda obvious that Myst is an inspiration, i think ;-) I've just barely scratched the surface, tracing backward from the Grand Tour Orbiter I've found the Orion and seen where it came from. Very cool. And I've also discovered the myst...

Re: RAN III Event Timeline Exploration Aid
Those cubes only show up when running it in 1.6.0. so it must be some kind of bug. :( It is a 1.6 bug. And there?s very simple fix, too, here: http://www.celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14100 Now, i wonder if the ultimate fate of the boat that launched the Grand Tour Probe from Hr...

Re: Some goodies, and a fix or two
I didn't realize that the wormhole journey wasn't working in 1.6.0. I'd like to figure out why. And I'd also like to understand why the XYZ data is off... If you can send me a note with some more details--either via the forum or my gmail account--I'll investigate and hopefully come up with some fix...

Some goodies, and a fix or two
Hello everyone, Just a short stop by to post some things. I?m not staying around to answer questions at the moment, haven?t really got much time nowadays. But i have been browsing a little, and also tested Celestia 1.6 final. A fix for semi-transparent boxes in 1.6 (around objects in ANY of my Add-O...

Pause
Everyone, Due to severe time constraints, i will be taking a vacation from Celestia for about a year or so. I will simply be extremely busy for a while. That?s why you do not see me here nowadays. I will of course continue to support CM maintenance in the interim, so i can be reached by PM there. Bu...

Re: SWIFT - Solar System Integration Software
Hi, Leila, not sure you saw the date of Hank's post; 2002... There is quite some time we don't see him on the board, so don't be surprise if you don't get any response. Anyway who knows... Good luck! I always thought that Chris L. has nominated him as his "deputy" quite a while ago ;-) Yo...

Re: modelling and animating a satellite in celestia
Now there is just one problem above all, when I convert my model into 3ds format the colors of model are gone and it only looks like a metal bunch cube! :? I have to add some textures but I dont know how you define them to celestia, I saw some other satellite files they just put them into textures ...

Re: A magazine for all Space Softwares ! !
A comment on your magazine itself, not the content: You have a good screen layout and readability, and i see you have put thought into your design. However, you do need proofreading; i guess english isn?t your native language? Anyway, get someone to do that for you, and you will lift the magazine up...

Re: New to the forum
I was wandering if there would be any problems with me using images and video fottage from within the programe for non-profit educational purposes in youtube videos and on my website? The short answer is, no problem. But the long answer is somewhat complicated, and more interesting... See a discuss...

Re: Celestia on a Mac - Image Save and Creating Movies
Would QuickTime Pro or iMovie suffice? If so, how do I get the two to play together? I have no idea if any of those can do screen capture, but there are a lot of apps available. I don?t understand what you mean by having them play together; if you save a movie in a standard format (mov/mpeg/avi), i...

Re: Error in moonships html file
In attempting to view the moonships via the moonship.html file, Firefox reports that is could not find a file (see Picture 21.jpg file). However, when using Safari (see file Pictyre22.jpg), I get the same results as illustrated by the file moonship-1 (Passenger).jpg. This means Firefox don?t unders...

Re: Ipod video (was possible to increaces size of orbit)
Here?s a trick that will give you orbit lines with any thickness you want: 1. Create an invisible mesh (a 100% transparent simple cube, for example) 2. Add one such cube for each planet to the SSC. A cube?s SemiMajorAxis = 0 (If the orbit is not a circle, you will have to fiddle with the cube?s orbi...

Re: Celestia on a Mac - Image Save and Creating Movies
I'm running Celestia 1.5.1 on a Power Mac G4 under Mac OS 10.4.11. I would like to save images and create/save movies with Celestia for use with a 5th grade class i work with. My read of the user's guide is that I should be able to do image saves and create/save movies via Celestia's File Menu. How...

Re: A magazine for all Space Softwares ! !
For Fridger : It's difficult to follow you : "ADD ONS doesn't characterize in no clear way the pourpose of CELESTIA .... but we are very to have them. "Apart from the most sophisticated-level orbits ..... but we work with ESA & 9 universities". What Fridger meant is that the Cele...

Re: A magazine for all Space Softwares ! !
ORBITER fans produced terrific space launchers 3D meshes. Their ARIANE 5 models are just great ! You for sure MAKE CELESTIA ..... but can't see what US users do with it ...... Yes, the primitive modelling efforts around here - like this one: http://forum.celestialmatters.org/viewtopic.php?t=290 And...

Re: Celestia URLs are not URL encoded
Another URL bug, this one regarding InfUrls:
The # (anchor) tag in InfoUrls are not properly escaped, it is just substituted with %23. That does not work, at least not in Firefox.
(Sorry for the threadjack, just thought it was tidy to have these in the same spot).

I just installed and tried the newest drivers for my card and it does the same thing. As for celestia I'm using the 4602 build. I think you must be more spesific: OS, computer specs etc. And post this in the Bugs forum, it might be a Celestia bug. Try the latest official release for your platform f...
