Re: clouds & weather sat

I suspect that particular texture size is fairly arbitrary, unless it's related somehow to the satellite data used in it. Xplanet doesn't really care too much about the texture size; compiling in GL support for it is optional. Otherwise, all the rendering is done software-side, so there's no concern...

Re: clouds & weather sat

For a while, I had Xplanet running on my desktop background, with the cloud map updating every 6 hours (see http://xplanet.sourceforge.net/ ) The Xplanet maintainer creates a 2000x1000 jpg cloud map every 3 hours from various satellite images, which is pretty nice, albeit funny looking at the poles ...

Re: add-in's

Yeah, that's what I meant, so that the brightest stars are circles if they are bright enough, and otherwise a point. Re: add-in's

Ick, single binary Windows registry-like structure = bad. A text file format is much nicer for hand-editing, searching/modifying with standard tools, reading/generating data with scripts, etc. I would find having to use an extra program to manipulate the data rather annoying as well. My suggestion f...

BB error

I'm not sure where to put this... but since it could be considered a 'bug' I registered for a new account for the BB, and picked the style 'dark' instead of 'subsilver', and when I tried to log in afterwards with it, I got an error about not being able to load the template (which I assume is for the...
