Re: Post your Celestia pictures!
I've just discovered a terrain generator which uses Anim8or, my favourite modelling program; Terranim8tor here's a moon landscape I've made today, with a Celestia background and a Terranim8or foreground http://www.orionsarm.com/im_store/med_moonsurface2.jpg The program makes landscapes which can be ...

Re: Vortex of a synchronous rotation planet
I think I'll made an add-on for Bullseye and place it on the OA site.
In the meantime you can find some code in this thread;

Re: Vortex of a synchronous rotation planet
Sorry; I forgot all about posting that add-on. But the one that you posted is more or less identical to mine. As far as the possibility of a hurricane goes, I was inspired to make mine by this National Geographic programme; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurelia_(planet)#Aurelia from there Half of Aur...

And it is inclined with respect to the equator -something I would have thought was impossible. If I recall correctly that would be quite difficult to do in Celestia.

Re: Future Earth textures
For the Orion's Arm scenario, we assume that global warming is a temporary problem. Carbon dioxide emissions will gradually decline once the use of fossil fuels becomes uneconomic; solar power, other renewables and nuclear power of various kinds will fill the gap. But the CO2 will remain in the atmo...

Eeeh!
I vaguely remember the adiabatic lapse rate concept from my college years
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapse_rate ... lapse_rate
but that was upwards of thirty-two years ago; apart from a fascination with convection clouds, all that stuff has been forgotten now.

Perhaps this is a good time to mention that the first Orion's Arm Novella collecton is now available at Amazon; this collection includes a short story set on Rufus (see the the first post in this thread) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Against-Diamond-Sky-Tales-Orions/dp/1432740997/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=...

Re: Beginning and end in markers
Well, we'll forget about the colonisation of the Solar System for now, as that would be on a completely different scale. The animation I should like to make involves the colonisation of different stars, and so would start with the stars nearby to Sol, and gradually expand outwards as more and more s...

Beginning and end in markers
Hi! Scripting is something I haven't tried before, and I must confess my complete ignorance at this time. However I've had an idea for a use of markers that would be very useful to me, and I wonder if there is any way that it can be done. My plan is to show the advance of colonisation in the fiction...

Re: Bugs in 1.6.0
Thanks, Bob; that worked very well.
I am going to add a link to a version of 1.6,0 on the Orion's Arm Site. Do they all have this ecliptic line on display? I'm not really interested in where the Earth's ecliptic is when I'm in a different planetary system. Or should I recommend this CELX fix?
