Why not 16k...

For those of us that can afford the overhead, why not a 16k version?

Your web site comes up as just black in Netscape 7!

Still can't get those files!

I go to http://members.lycos.nl/redfish/Celestia/ and right
click to save the object and all Netscape wants to to is save
a html page.

Re: Guess which Bump Map is really wrong...

You needn't have done all that work. There are matching bumpmaps for both if you simply look for them. You can find the 16k texture in dds format at Fridger's Texture Foundry site at http://www.celestiaproject.net/~t00fri/texfoundry.html I've been to this site many times, and I just went there and ...

Re: Guess which Bump Map is really wrong...

Actually, the redmars dds seems to match the 1k bump ok. But that
other mars dds definitely doesn't match.

Guess which Bump Map is really wrong...

I discovered today that the Marsbump1k.jpg file is screwed up. I think it's out of phase for the mars8k.dds file and vertically mirrored. In any case, it doesn't at all match up correctly - you can really see it by orbiting over mars, toggle ctrl-p on and off, and you'll see that the great canyon's ...

No more galaxies in Pre7

I just put Celestia on my brand new system (with G4 TI440 128Mb) and Pre7 does not show galaxies WHATSOEVER (even the default 2k version). Earlier version this afternoon (125) DOES show galaxies. Everything else works fine AND is quite spectacular with the G4. Chris - do you know why I'm not getting...

No Revolving suns anymore...

Those new textures for stars are great, except the suns have now
stopped spinning - no matter how fast you speed up time.

Just another bug to step on.

No Menu labels...

I also don't have any labels or menu stucture (just a big gray
bar) when I'm at 1280X1024X32 full screen.

Chris, please let us know when that is fixed - kind of a bummer.

Thanks - keep up the good work.

Re: A new look of the Earth. New (4k) textures inside!

In order that we do not have to argue for ever whether your card does it or not, why don't you just dump the openGL info that is displayed for your card when you click help->openGLinfo in the menue.

Then we can simply tell...

Finally found the bug...

Vic's bug report may well serve as a good example of how such reports should look like... (augmented with info on OS, graphics card, driver specs and Celestia version, of course!) Bye Fridger Actually, I have sent my OS, etc. many times before, but this time I suspected this bug is not system speci...
