Re: Lua_Edu_Tools_1.2beta8.zip and Celestia-Gnome
I read in http://www.celestiaproject.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=13162 that this version of Lua_Edu_Tools needs Celestia 1.6.1; is it true? YES Should I download SVN version ? If you want to use beta8, YES There is also a beta9, but again YES, that also needs v161 or SVN beta8 and beta9 can ...

Re: Strange Behavior of Sol when Pluto's Hydra is On-Screen
I see it on two Dells, correct - but everything else is different about the two systems (processor, mainboard, chipset, graphics card & graphics card manufacturer, version of Windows, etc.). As stated in my previous response, my footnote configuration does NOT represent the DELL laptop configur...

Re: Strange Behavior of Sol when Pluto's Hydra is On-Screen
Indeed you're not alone... Sun_black.jpg Sun_RB_black.jpg Sun_LU_black.jpg But I must also say, I only had this reproducable on a DELL laptop , and in Jeff's footnote I also read that he uses a DELL :?:  Reproducing it was also very distance dependent . When close to Hydra, the problem practic...

Re: rotation and its step size
Ben, The amount of rotation is determined by the time you press these keys. So when you first rotate left, you need to press the keys for the right rotation exactly the same amount of time. May I suggest reading the User guide at http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/documentation.html which exp...

Hello all, After doing some alternative Constellation implementations for Celestia in october/november last year, I worked in the past 2 months on the additional implementation of the Chinese Constellations and Indigenous Brazilian Constallations and added them to the "Alternative Constellation...

Re: Possible error in scripting manual
Ben, Reading the manual of Don also fasinated/inspired me a few years ago and I learned a lot from it :D But I want to remind you the following: The manual is written for Celestia, version 1.3.1+. and the manual itself had not been revised after that... Since than, a lot has changed in Celestia itse...

Re: Planetarium mode - where am I?
Ben, One additional help to the instructions already given by Selden... Before you goto the surface, you can influence the direction you will be looking at when landed... Do this by rotating your screen (i.e. using the arrow keys). The part of the screen that is facing up (at the top of your screen)...

Re: Script generator
Hello Ben, My original question about converting cel-URLs to normal script commands was prompted by the fact that it is much harder to understand the details contained within the URL. If you want to tweak the parameters for a slightly different "snapshot" then the script commands are so mu...

Re: Script generator
Hello surket, I don't fully understand your question about a " program " to convert CEL-links to .cel files (scripts), but probably the next will help you: Within Celestia, you can use the [Ctrl] + [C] key combination, to save the current (active) URL. Next, you can go tho a text editor, l...

Jan, Perfect idea  an perfect result of your script. :blue: I already incorparated it in the startup script, to have it available by default :!: I really appreciate your work. I regret the "misunderstanding" between you and the ML people. Let me state here that I also appriciate the ...

In addition I can't use educational activities. May I help remember you that Educational Activities are designed to run with the special Celestia160-ED version instead of the default Celestia distribution. The Celestia160-ED version, base package and (2010) revised activities can be downloaded from...

Re: Possible bug(s) in celx/lua
Thanks for confirming my problem Marco. Do you know what the procedure is from here on? You're welcome... 1) Wait till a member of the Celestia development team also recognizes this as a problem and put an action/priotity on it to solve (Vincent ?). In that case probably also report this issue as a...

Re: Possible bug(s) in celx/lua
Jan, I can fully reproduce your problem here. To me, it looks like a problem which has something to do with the combination of using the phase:timespan() and celestia:registereventhandler() methods together. The following simple code, works fine here: function showmessage_G() object = celestia:getse...

Same error here with a clean version of Celestia installed (version: Celestia Home download), without any Add-ons.

Re: Celx getinfo( ) Table Key Problems
According to the CELX Manual: Hello VikingTechJPL, Although a little late as an answer to this thread, there are indeed problems when using the mentioned keys. As a result, the WIKI CELX manual is adjusted on this point now (I hope temporarily, until the working of them is correct in a new Celestia...

Re: Help with Orientation/Rotation
Hello Lithis, I think using the obs:goto{table} method is the method to use here. What you can try, to determine the right target orientation, is to first manually goto the position and orientation you want. Then using the [Ctrl] + [c] keys, you can save the CELURL. Copy that CELURL into a text docu...
