Incorrect. They state "Pluto-Bound New Horizons Provides New Look at Jupiter System". Io is part of the Jupiter System. ;)

Re: OGame

What is an MMO? Massively multiplayer online role-playing game Final Fantasy XI consumed my life for about 2 years a couple years ago. About 1/4 of those 2 years (nearly 200 days of actual game time) was spent playing that game. I enjoyed it, but I had no life outside of the game and so I quit. FFX...

Re: Dual cores, clock skew and odd behavior

There is an AMD optimized driver, but I don??t know if it really helps in improve the perfomance. Without the AMD Dual-core Optimizer, I would run into issues with the cores becoming out of sync with each other. After a few hours, this would be able to be seen in Celestia as shaky/jittery movement i...

I'm seeing the same behavior with the sunspots disappearing in the middle of the sun. The fact that the stars do not use a texture was talked about extensively in the past.

Re: Lunar Meteor Impacts

There's a big difference between a light fluffy comet that's 8.7 by 2.5 miles and a 3,474 km diameter moon. There's a difference of scale, not to mention that the moon has quite a bit more gravity, which will not allow ejecta to travel as far as it would on the comet.

My report: I am also seeing bloom effects on orbit lines, regardless of which render path I use. What's weird is that it is only occuring with certain orbit lines. Bloom effect: Asteroids Comets Selected Object No Bloom: Moons Planets Spacecraft I do not have any "corrupted graphics" related to the ...

Ah. I understand now. I'll have to take a look and try them out when I get a chance.

If I may... You may wish to investigate LCD's a bit more closely. When I went shopping for my current monstrosity, I saw NOT ONE crt available for use with the new PC's. Just FYI... Thanks, Brain-Dead Believe me, I have been investigating LCDs for a while now. My main issue currently is that my CRT...

By this you mean that north and south of those lines, there will be no specularity at all? Is this different from the watermask on the BMNG server?

Re: Specularity

Now, I CAN change it if I wish to use a lesser resolution, but why would I want to do that? I have a very large display screen that I WANT to use. The rate is at 60 MHZ and that's that. That is standard on CRTs as well. Lower your resolution and you can raise your refresh rate. I guess I've never r...

Re: Dual core?

you don't really need the newest stuff anyways. Debatable. Depends on just how pretty you want your graphics, or how fast you want your work to be done. I spent $1400 building my PC only a little more than a year ago, with nearly top of the line stuff. And now one year later, Crysis is unplayable o...

Re: Dual core?

If with one core you obtain about 30 fps, with two core you should be able to obtain 60 fps. the 60 - 42 fps = 18 that you lost are converted in heat; therefore, two fan are required. :D Assuming performance is limited by just the CPU, then yes. But it's not. There are issues such as memory bandwid...

Re: Dual core?

I do not recommend buying a AM2 setup at all. Not only are Intel's Core2 Duos quite a bit faster, but before long AMD will be coming out with AM3 socket stuff running DDR3 RAM. I bought my 939 setup right as the AM2 stuff came out, and I regret that now. I just did a quick test in Celestia, buy floa...
