Re: Map of users

I would consider editing and/or hosting a Celestians_loc.ssc on my website which would mean "quys who don't know how to edit there own lat/long references, to create a Celestia location" could just provide the lat/long and then the SSC would be updated periodically for download. With the Help of Go...

Re: Map of users

Nice, this will allow a better understanding of Celestia users distribution. Hello Andrea, don't you provide, sometimes ago a Google Earth location? Or just a GE pic, I don't remenber. But in this case, you can provide a GE or, more interesting, a Celestia location. We can try to edit a Celestian c...

Re: Map of users

[Excusez mon ignorance mais que fait le moyen de la GE IIRC ? Hello, be careful of Babelfish, you don't find your proper words if you translate twice, in any language  This is because, when my poor english speaking can't help me, I write in French  So: What I try to explain with the Goo...

Re: Map of users

Re: Map of users

EDIT: Don't bother if you haven't got the ISS. Crude ISS is a part of Celestia package, isn't it??. Nice locations. There's an ISS following in GE, IIRC, but I don't know if we can link a private location with it. So, a Celestian location would be a better system for numberous Extra-Terrestrial Cel...

Re: Map of users

Hey, funny, I'm in...

Re: Map of users

Well, a Celestia fan map? Why not.. for years, there is a map for the Orbiter community : http://orbinauts.dansteph.com/ For Celestia, on the French forum we have speaking about another solution, BTW of Google Earth: users could provide their own .kml file, so their placement could be directly added...

Re: Creating a Celestia download with many add-ons included.

Hello, I was wondering if anybody had considered, or would consider creating a downloadable version of Celestia with lots of the add-ons already included. My personal preference would be not to include the 'fictional' add-ons, but rather a very large educational program suitable for use in homes and...

Re: Celestia 1.4.1

I have a couple of old computers in the basement ( one is a 486, believe it or not) with the original versions of Celestia. My, things have come a long ways!!! Hu hu. Recently, I have a look to Open Universe, to verify my old archives. the day after, Chris offered the 141 prerelease of Celestia . W...

[Catalog update] About Pluto

Hello All I want to refresh the Pluto/Charon page of my catalog, as you can see, this was very old: http://jeam.tag.free.fr/CELESTIAhtml/CelestiaAddons-SystemeSolaire-Pluton1.htm So: REAL _ Fridger, do you have somewhere a hires textures available? IIRC, before the celestia default medres were relea...

Re: New Horizons Add-On

Another solution: you could edit the .ssc with your references, and tell users to download your pluto textures (pluto.jpg and plutonormal.jpg) on your majormoons page http://www.jestrstuff.50megs.com/extras/addons/JestrsMajorMoons/textures/medres/majormedres.html , iguess this is the ones you are sp...

Re: New Horizons Add-On

Yes,I fear you may be correct,Jeam. When I was making the addon,I included some of my own,but later deleted them to save on space. They will need some though, even if only the default ones (of course the only "real" ones).Jestr OK Jestr! Two choices: you can recompile the addon with a medres fictitiou...

Re: New Horizons Add-On

OK,I have just made catalogue entries on the Motherlode for my New Horizons addon. I have included an xyz orbit for the craft and also for Pluto (so for 2015 you get 2 Pluto's in Celestia). Jestr, this is superb, as usual, but it seems to me that you have not credited a texture for your second Plut...

Re: Bugs in 1.4.1pre1

But what about Phoebe? It is invisible in Celestia 1.4.1 pre1.The locations are shown, but not the moon. If you have dwloaded the model, and replaced it correctly in the models folder (NO other manipulations!), it must work! That's working for me with my poor install at home, so... Didn't you confuse...

I fond an other problem or bug: I can't change a planet's surface or select a spacecraft or planet's moon in a menu...I don't know if this "bug" concern only me. Anyone have the same problem ?Bye! That is working well for me, satellites or Alternate Surfaces are listed on the right-click browser.Jeam

Re: SOLARIS?

Because of the poor interest of this feature (the planet mapping), that coud'nt show the real interest of the story. I don??t think a Solaris AddOn would be very interesting... Maybe as an exercise in creating a good water texture, but not much else to see. BTW, i do prefer Tarkovsky??s version, th...

Re: SOLARIS?

Extremely long, slow plot development is one of the characteristics of just about all of Tarkovsky's films. Yes, Selden, but in this case this was an interesting variation of the novel. I don't think a Celestia addon for this planet would satisfy neither the novel fans (this is just an oceanic worl...

Re: New Horizons Add-On

There doesnt appear to be any ephemeris for the spacecraft on the Horizons computer as yet.Jestr IIRC, the trajectory depended of the timing of the launch (Jupiter Flyby/Assistance or direct cruise -for the latest windows for the launch, february). So there were many, many ephemeris, i guess, I rem...
